On 05/31/2025, I was advised by dispatch of a domestic incident that had occurred on the night of Thursday, 05/29/2025 around 1800/6 PM. Dispatch advised that the victim was at Piedmont Athens Regional (1199 Prince Ave, Athens GA 30606). Banks County Sherrif’s Office responded to Culver’s (110 Grove Creek Point, Commerce GA 30529) and spoke with the complainant, a Ms. [WITNESS #1]. Ms. [WITNESS #1] advised that an employee of hers, a Ms. [VICTIM #1], was struck in the face by her partner, a Mr. Jose Lazos-Estrada. BCSO advised Ms [WITNESS #1] of the proper venue for the incident, and to contact Jackson County Dispatch. Cpl. Crenshaw requested that an ACCPD officer speak with Ms. [VICTIM #1] to gather information on the incident. We were advised by ACCPD that Ms. [VICTIM #1] had various injuries and willing to speak to a Commerce PD officer.

On Saturday, (05/31/2025) Cpl. Adam King met with Ms. [VICTIM #1] in her hospital room at Piedmont Athens Regional. According to testimony obtained by Cpl. Adam King on 05/31/025, and relayed to me, Ms. [VICTIM #1] and Mr. Lazos-Estrada were leaving World of Kids (on Mt. Olive Rd,) on Thursday afternoon (05/29/2025) with her two children, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], and [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Ms. [VICTIM #1] said that Mr. Lazos Estrada leaned over from his seat and punched her in the face on their way home from World of Kids. Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s eye was swollen, according to Cpl. King.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] advised that the following night, 05/30/2025, that Mr. Lazos-Estrada, attempted to use a green Toyota to run her over in front of their home ([900 BLOCK] Homer Rd. Lot [REDACTED]). [REDACTED BY AGENCY] age 4, was inside the vehicle. [VICTIM #1] acquired multiple injuries and needed medical attention, which she sought the same night at Piedmont Athens Regional. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that Mr. Lazos Estrada worked at a cabinet shop. Cpl. King returned to the Commerce Police Department, and we discussed finding where Mr. Lazos Estrada was located, and if it was in the city.

Cpl. Crenshaw advised Ofc. Boyer of the address obtained by Ms. [VICTIM #1] ([900 BLOCK] Homer Rd.). Cpl. Crenshaw asked Ofc. Boyer to drive by the residence of the victim ([900 BLOCK] Homer Rd. Lot [REDACTED]) and see if there was a green Toyota nearby. Ofc. Boyer arrived at [900 BLOCK] Homer Rd and advised that there was a green 2010 Toyota Camry parked outside of a trailer (lot [REDACTED]). Cpl. Crenshaw requested that Ofc. Boyer remain within sight of the residence. Sgt King, Cpl. Crenshaw, and I advised Ofc. Boyer that we were enroute to his location.

I arrived at [900 BLOCK] Homer Rd. and parked my unit one house down from Lot [REDACTED]. I exited with Cpl. Crenshaw and proceeded to walk to the back left corner of the trailer. I remained at this location while Cpl. Crenshaw walked around to the front of the lot. I made my way to the front of the house after being called by Cpl. Crenshaw over the radio. Upon rounding the corner of the trailer, I saw Mr. Lazos-Estrade in handcuffs on the front porch. Mr. Lazos Estrade was escorted by Ofc. Boyer to and then placed in the back left seat of his patrol car. I remained near Ofc. Boyer’s patrol car while Cpl. King spoke with three individuals who lived directly right of Lot [REDACTED], across the driveway. Cpl. Crenshaw and I returned to service at approximately 1600/ 4PM on 05/31/2025.
