On 6/5/2025 I was made aware of video footage found on devices seized during a previous search warrant on the Galob residence. The footage showed a back bedroom of the house. In this footage you can see a small child in a dog crate within the bedroom. You can hear Joseph Galob yelling at one of the other children. Linda Galob can be heard saying, “Just get it done and over with.” It sounds like Joseph begins beating the child as smacks can be heard and the child begins screaming louder. Joseph also says, “fu*king little animal.” Linda then says, “then why don’t you give her up.” The smacks continue at a rapid rate. The child can be heard screaming throughout. After over a dozen smacks Joseph or Linda says, “That should do it.” Linda then says again that Joseph should give, “that stupid little bi*ch up and then she is out of all of our hair.” Linda and Joseph also talk to each other, but it is unintelligble on the recording. This occurred on 12/13/2022 @ 0800 according to the date and time stamp on the video.
From the audio I believed that Linda was complacent in the beating of the child. I was able to secure warrants for party to a crime for cruelty to children in the 1st degree. After having the warrants signed I met with patrol and went over to the Galob residence on Ila Road. As we pulled up Linda darted inside and Cpl. Crenshaw and Ofc. Cutshall met her at the backdoor. She was placed under arrest at this time. Per her request a rosary necklace she was wearing was cut off and left at the house. In the process of arresting Linda it was noticed that there were several dogs at the property. From previous encounters with her I knew her to have several animals. According to recorded jail calls there was likely to be more inside the residence. Linda was asked how many dogs she had and she stated 8. The dogs that we could see looked to be in seriously bad health. I spoke with the neighbor and she stated that Linda had recently told her that two of the dogs had starved to death.
Other videos from the Galob residence show the children being placed in dog crates. With this information and the information in reference to the starving of the two dogs a search warrant was sought by [REDACTED] of the DA’s office after requesting assistance while we secured the scene and waited for animal control. While waiting on the warrant animal control arrived and took custody of the dogs within the residence. They took 8 dogs in total. Many dogs were still in crates that had no access to food or water. The animals were severely malnourished as ribs were visible and had extensive conjuctivitis in their eyes. The dogs that were in the crates were also aggressive and care using catch poles had to be taken so no one was bitten. The crates were also stacked in a manner where feces and urine could run down from the top crates to the bottom crates. No dog food was found in the house at this time or the subsequent search.
[REDACTED] informed me that the search warrant had been signed. Officers entered the residence at roughly 1203. The scope of the search warrant allowed officers to look for medication for the animals, food and water for the animals, as well as animal crates. During the search photographs were taken of the condition of the house and the position of the crates. The house had a pungent odor that required us to wear masks and no proper venitlation was noticed to benefit the animals within the residence. Dog crates matching the ones seen in videos within the residence were found in a back bedroom. These were taken from the residence as evidence. Nothing else was taken from the residence during the search warrant.
I spoke with animal control after completing the search warrant and they informed me that 7 of the 8 dogs were euthanized due to their condition and aggressiveness. Per the Jackson County Animal Control animals 2025-570, 2025-571, 2025-573, 2025-574, 2025-575, 2025-576, and 2025-577 were euthanized. 2025-572 was a younger dog and in good enough condition that animal control felt that it could be rehabilitated.
Additional warrants for animal cruelty were taken on Linda Galob.
