On 05/24/2026 at approximately 1151 hours I, Deputy Nolan Sullivan was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Thurman Way in reference to a domestic Dispute.

Upon arrival I made contact with Matthew Hurt and Annlexcia Harden in the yard of the residence. The parties were separated when I arrived on scene. I then spoke to Matthew who stated that he had been watching Annlexciia and his child for the past week even though he didn’t have power and only has power due to a generator. He stated that Annlexcia showed up today basically to just bother him. He stated that she followed him around in Gray to get gas and groceries. He stated that when he got back she got in his truck and wouldn’t get out and that after she got out, she threw pinecones in his truck. He stated that she was doing this just to bother him. He then stated that when they were on the porched of the residence that she hit him with a small broomstick and that it hurt like hell. He stated that after this Annlexcia kept antagonizing him and that he then choked her. I then asked him what he meant and he stated that he choked her with his hands on her neck. Sgt. Hunt then arrived on scene.

I then spoke to Annlexcia and she stated that while she and Matthew were on the porch she did hit him with the small broomstick but that after this he then bent her backwards on the porch railing while choking her. I then asked he to clarify what happened and she stated that he grabbed her throat with his hands and that she couldn’t breathe. I then asked her if she feared for her life when he choked her and she stated that she did. Both parties stated that they didn’t want to press charges and that they didn’t want the other to go to jail. I then advised them that in the matter of domestic/family violence the state can press charges.

I then placed Matthew in handcuffs (double locked and checked for fit) and placed him under arrest for aggravated assault. Sgt. Hunt then placed Annlexcia under arrest. Sgt. Hunt then transported both parties to the Jones County LEC.

I then sought and secured a warrant for Matthew for aggravated assault and a warrant for Annlexcia for simple battery.

I then went back in service.
