On 06-02-2025 at approximately 2129 hours a motor vehicle vs four-wheeler collision was reported in the area of [100 BLOCK] Sun Valley Dr. While enroute it was reported that female driver, later identified as Brenda Bunkley by her GA driver’s license, was laying in the street. Then a short time later, she got up and walked away from the scene, stating that she was going home, and appeared to be intoxicated. The complainant described her as a black female, wearing a black shirt, and no pants. Deputies Elliot and Patterson responded to the scene to assist as well.
Upon my arrival, I made contact with Dep. Patterson and Bunkley, who was not wearing pants and sitting in the grass in front of [100 BLOCK] Sun Valley Dr., Patterson stayed with Bunkley while Elliot and I went to the scene of the collision. There, it was revealed the four-wheeler was parked off the roadway and unoccupied at the time of the collision. After striking the four-wheeler the vehicle collided with a tree on the opposite side of the roadway, then crossed back over the roadway again came to a rest.
Witnesses on scene explained what they heard and saw. One Witness stated that he helped Bunkley out of the vehicle and saw she was not wearing pants. When asked if they saw any pants in the vehicle they stated no. I later located a pair of legging style pants, covered with grass, in the passenger seat floor. A short time later, I removed Bunkley’s purse and pants and turned them over to Dep. Elliot. Prior to him transporting Bunkley to jail. After processing the scene, the vehicle was turned over to Stan’s Wrecker Service.
While I processed the wreck scene, Dep. Elliot met with Bunkley and asked her to submit to S.F.S.Ts, which she refused. He later advised me that even though she refused S.F.S.Ts she agreed to Implied Consent for blood testing. Dep. Elliot transported her to the Jones Co. jail and met the on-call nurse for the blood draw. He obtained the specimen and turned it over to me for evidence.
Once able I made contact Bunkley at the Jones Co. Jail. There I issued her citations for D.U.I, Failure to Maintain Lane, Hit and Run, and Public Drunkenness. I secured the G.B.I. toxicology kit into evidence locker number 9 for processing.
