On 09/30/2025, I deputy J. Robinson was dispatched to the area of Ga Hwy 49 near Morris Stevens Rd in reference to a hit and run. Caller stated a white van with orange writing on the side hit her and kept on going south on Ga Hwy 49.

I began traveling north on Ga Hwy 49 from Joycliff Rd. I noticed a white van with a orange square sticker on the side traveling south bound on Ga Hwy 49. I noted it was a white in color Ram Van. I turned on my blue lights and siren and caught up the vehicle just across the Jones/Bibb line. I made a traffic stop with said vehicle it was bearing a New Jersey tag number [REDACTED]. I made contact with the driver, Tavious Glover. I noted he was wearing a Amazon prime vest. I advised him on the reason for the stop. He stated he did not hit a vehicle, stating he hit a tree in Milledgville Ga during one of his deliveries. I noted damage to the front left bumper which appeared to be new damage. Mr. Glover stated again he did not hit a vehicle nor did he see another vehicle get hit.

I advised dispatch to a send a unit to the complainants vehicle and let me know what the damage looked like. Lt. Ransom advised he was en route to the crash scene. Once on scene, He sent me a picture from his work phone, showing the rear of a gray in color Honda accord bearing Ga tag [REDACTED]. I noticed damage in the middle of the rear bumper. It was consistent with the damage on the white van. The complainant [VICTIM #1] advised the driver of the van was a black male and the van had an orange square on the side. Ransom checked the flock cameras at the Baldwin/Jones line and noted the Van was behind the complainants vehicle as it came into the County traveling south on Ga hwy 49. It was also noted the complainants vehicle did not have damage to the bumper.

Deputy Shurley arrived on scene to assist me with the stop. I advised Mr. Glover to exit the vehicle, where he was handcuffed behind the back, double locked and checked for fit. He was checked for weapons and contraband prior to being placed in the rear of my patrol unit 22-6. He was secured in the rear with a seatbelt.

Shurley and I looked at the damage to bumper on the van again while I was taking photographs. Shurley found a small sliver of gray metallic paint attached to the damaged area of the bumper. I took a photograph of the sliver attached to Shurley’s finger.

The van had a dash cam system in the front windshield. The vehicle was towed to the Jones County LEC and placed on hold for a search warrant for said dash cam video. The Vehicle was removed by 49 Wrecker service. Mr. Glover was transported to the Jones County LEC where he was charged with Hit and Run. I followed behind 49 Wrecker with my dash cam recording all the way to the LEC.

Mr. Glover was turned over the jail staff to await charges and booking process. The van was stored in the Sheriff’s Office impound lot and the key was turned into evidence with the inventory sheet.
