On July 29, 2026 I (Deputy Hightower 128) was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Francis St in reference to a hit and run.

I arrived on scene and made contact with [WITNESS #1] who stated that her step-daughter Roberts, Haley Nicole had been fighting with her mother [REDACTED] before coming to the home. Mrs. [WITNESS #1] then stated that Ms. Roberts blocked the driveway with her vehicle and continued to argue with her and her step-son Juvenile [VICTIM #1] before being physically put back into the vehicle by her brother. Ms. Roberts would then put the vehicle in drive and strike Juvenile [VICTIM #1] with the vehicle before driving away. The incident was recorded by a doorbell camera and I would be shown the recording where the incident could be clearly seen.

I had dispatch send out a bolo out for the vehicle and EMS arrive on scene to examine Juvenile [VICTIM #1] injuries. EMS stated that Juvenile [VICTIM #1] did have swelling to his right arm but refused to be transported to the hospital as his family would take him for further examination. Juvenile [VICTIM #1] family took him to Wellstar Spalding Medical Center where he was treated for a boxing fracture to his right arm. The vehicle was spotted by Deputy Thiel 121 and stopped on Thomaston St. Ms. Roberts was identified by the Deputies and placed under arrest for aggravated assault and cruelty to children. Ms. Roberts was transported to the Lamar County Detention Center by Deputy Lester 131 and turned over to the jail staff.

After I had fully watched the video of the incident I would witness that after Ms. Roberts struck Juvenile [VICTIM #1] with the vehicle she would pull further up the driveway where the altercation would further continue between her and Juvenile [VICTIM #1]. Juvenile [VICTIM #1] can be seen striking Ms. Roberts through the open window of the vehicle and the rear of the vehicle multiple times with his right arm. Juvenile [VICTIM #1] can then be seen going into the home before Ms. Roberts drives away from the scene. It is in my opinion that the injury Juvenile [VICTIM #1] substantiated was partially due to him striking the vehicle. Body worn cameras were on and recording.
