On Friday, July 10th, 2026 at 1723 hours, I, Officer D. Manoogian responded code 2, urgent, to [300 BLOCK] Atlanta Street Barnesville, GA 30204 to a report of a domestic situation(verbal) in progress.
When I arrived on scene along with Deputy Theil of Lamar County Sheriff’s Office and Officer Lara and Lt. McWhorter, I activated my BWC and exited my vehicle. I observed a young male, later identified as [VICTIM #1] outside in the front yard of the residence yelling at later identified as his mother, complainant, Judy Crockett.
[VICTIM #1], upon seeing my presence, walked over to me clearly irate.
Deputy Theil, Officer Lara, and Lt. McWhorter went inside of the residence to make contact with the complainant.
After [VICTIM #1] had calmed down he explained to me that he was in his room, heard his grandmother calling his name. [VICTIM #1] came out of his room and went to his grandmother’s room to see what she wanted. [VICTIM #1] let out a “huff” out of his mouth and then his mother came out of her room. Crockett in an annoyed manner asked [VICTIM #1] why he was huffing and [VICTIM #1] stated that he was tired of people calling his name.
[VICTIM #1] stated that his mother claimed that was disrespectful and then began yelling at him to get out of the house. [VICTIM #1] and his mother began exchanging angry words towards each other. [VICTIM #1] stated that Crockett then grabbed a bottle of rubbing alcohol and splashed it in his face. As [VICTIM #1] was going outside to separate himself, Crockett then brandished a firearm and pointed it at him according to [VICTIM #1]. That was when [VICTIM #1] went outside and the two continued to yell at each other.
At that time, Deputy Theil, Officer Lara and Lt. McWhorter exited the residence and joined me on the sidewalk. According to officers and Deputy Theil that talked to the complainant, the chain of events of the altercation were the same as [VICTIM #1]’s. In addition to the other events, Crockett admitted to Deputy Theil, Officer Lara, and Lt. McWhorter that she did splash the rubbing alcohol in [VICTIM #1]’s face, and also admitted that she threatened to kill him while holding a firearm.
When asking [VICTIM #1] about the threatening, he stated that he didn’t remember her threatening him.
At that time, I walked into the residence and explained to Ms. Crockett that she was under arrest for terroristic threats and aggravated assault. While Ms. Crockett was argumentative she was compliant after I explained why she was under arrest. Due to some medical issues I allowed the offender to walk without handcuffs to my assigned patrol unit 16 and when seated in the backseat, placed the handcuffs on the offender in the front. I then transported the offender to Lamar County Detention where she was turned over to booking personnel for processing. I will be seeking warrants for aggravated assault, terroristic threats and acts, and battery(FV).
