On 10 Aug 2026 I, Capt. Newman, was dispatched to [300 BLOCK] Lamar county line rd for a shooting incident.
Upon arrival I spoke with Spalding county units due to them receiving the call. They advised that a subject out front of [100 BLOCK] Lamar county rd was waving his arms around and flicking a passing motorist (Mr. [VICTIM #1]) off. Mr. [VICTIM #1] stopped and asked if everything was ok. Mr. Odell advised keep moving. Mr. [VICTIM #1] then asked what did you say and that is when Mr. Odell pulled out a hand gun and began shooting into the vehicle. Mr. [VICTIM #1] retreated to [300 BLOCK] and called law enforcement. All Patrol and CID units arrived on scene. I then turned the scene over to SGT. Haire.
