On Thursday May 21st, 2026 at 1659 hours, I Officer D. Manoogian responded code 1 emergency to [200 BLOCK] Southland Drive Apartment [REDACTED] Barnesville, GA 30204 to a report of a domestic situation involving a weapon.
When I arrived on scene, along with Lieutenant McWhorter and Deputy France of the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office, I immediately made contact with an [VICTIM #1] subject and detained him in handcuffs being that it was reported that he had a knife during the incident.
At that time I had Deputy France stand by with [VICTIM #1] (Son,Brother) while I made contact with one of the involved persons, Arianna Williams(Sister). Lieutenant McWhorter made contact with the mother, Tiana Roberts.
While questioning Arianna Williams, she stated that her brother had been stealing things from their mother and they were tired of it. Arianna then stated that when their mom told [VICTIM #1] that she was taking away the wifi box so that he wouldn’t have access to the internet, as punishment for stealing, [VICTIM #1] started “flipping out”, yelling and cursing at Tiana Roberts and he went into the kitchen and grabbed a kitchen knife and walked back into the livingroom. Arianna did say that after he saw Tiana walking outside with the wifi box, he dropped the knife and walked after her outside, still upset. Arianna did confirm when asked that [VICTIM #1] did not approach either of them in a threatening manner with the knife though.
At that time, Arianna stated that [VICTIM #1] followed their mother outside and while she was attempting to put the wifi box in the vehicle, [VICTIM #1] was trying to get into the vehicle and get it back. Arianna stated that [VICTIM #1] was pushing on their mom and getting in her face and yelling at her. Arianna stated that she went outside and did admit to swinging a broom at [VICTIM #1] to get him to get away from their mother because she supposedly has lupus. Arianna stated that that was when Tiana called the police.
Lieutenant McWhorter told me that when he questioned the mother, her recollection of events was similar to Arianna’s. At that time I made contact with [VICTIM #1] who was crying and upset but calm. After validating that he was calmed down I took the handcuffs off of him and asked for his side of what transpired.
[VICTIM #1] stated that he was upstairs in his bedroom, talking to his girlfriend on the phone. Tiana had entered his room and began yelling at him and accusing him of stealing her “weed” (marijuana). [VICTIM #1] stated that he told his girlfriend he would call her back and hung up with her and told his mom that he didn’t steal it. According to [VICTIM #1] she insisted that he did and told him that since he wants to steal her weed than he won’t have internet and started unplugging the wifi box.
[VICTIM #1] then stated that he was begging his mom not to because he was also trying to make plans for a friend of his to pick him up to take him to Atlanta for a few days since Tiana and his sister Arianna didn’t want him at the house anymore. [VICTIM #1] then stated that he did follow his mom outside to get the wifi box back. He stated that he went in the car and got the wifi box and then Tiana began yelling at him again and calling him hurtful names like a “dumba*s” and a “little b*tch.” and began grabbing and pulling on him. When asked, [VICTIM #1] stated that he did not retaliate against his mom and that his sister then came outside with a broom and swung it at his head. [VICTIM #1] then stated that they both said that they are going to call the police and tell them he had a weapon. [VICTIM #1] insisted that he never grabbed a knife or had a weapon on him. [VICTIM #1] stated that they also told him that the police were going to put him in jail because of all the calls previously against him.
At that time a witness, [WITNESS #1], approached me and told me she saw the whole thing outside. The witness stated that she had just had arrived home from the store, to her apartment at [REDACTED]. [WITNESS #1] stated that when she got out of her car she heard the mother(Tiana) and the sister(Arianna) yelling at him while he was in a vehicle, she stated they were calling him names and putting him down. Witness stated that she saw the mother yanking on [VICTIM #1]’s shirt and arms trying to yank him out of the car, still cursing at him. Witness also stated that she saw the sister swing a blue handled broom at [VICTIM #1]’s head, she didn’t know if she hit him or not but she was trying to. When asked, witness stated that at no time did [VICTIM #1] have any weapon in his hand, and he did not go after his mother, in fact, was trying to back up away from her trying to grab him.
The witness stated that she sees amd hears the mother and sister constantly yelling at him and putting him down and getting him sent to mental institutions and what she sees from outside, he never goes back after them. The witness stated that she feels very bad for him because he is always calm and friendly and polite to her when she had any interaction with [VICTIM #1].
Due to the eye witness testimony, I decided to take Ariana Williams and Tiana Roberts into custody for disorderly conduct under the city ordinance, disorderly conduct(acts of violence). After placing handcuffs on both persons, Deputy France transported Roberts to Lamar County Detention Center and I transported Arianna Williams to Lamar County Detention Center in my assigned patrol unit#16. After arriving at the jail I escorted Arianna into the jail and turned her over to booking personnel. I issued both parties citations for the disorderly conduct and advised them it was under the city ordinance so it would not go on their record. I felt at the time it was necessary to separate the family that way in fear of immediate retalliation against [VICTIM #1].
[VICTIM #1] stated that he would be okay by himself and that he was going to still attempt to go to his friend’s house for a few days.
