[NARRATIVE #1 on March 06, 2026]
On 3/6/2026 at approximately 09:38 AM, I Deputy Tapley was dispatched to [1200 BLOCK] Old Hawkinsville Road in reference to an altered mental status.
Upon my arrival, I met with [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] advised me that Daniel Payne had a mental episode while at the listed residence. She stated Daniel poured things out in the home, sprayed her with a water hose and placed a cross in front of the door, turned the gas on in the residence and told her that she was going to burn.
Daniel then took [VICTIM #2] and left in Gray in color 2024 Toyota Rav 4. Deputies were unable to locate Daniel and [VICTIM #2] in the area. [VICTIM #1] was unable to provide a clothing description for Daniel but, stated [VICTIM #2] was wearing “sleepers.” [VICTIM #1] stated Daniel is approximately 5’7, 145 pounds.
Daniel and [VICTIM #2] will be entered as missing in GCIC.

[NARRATIVE #2 on March 06, 2026]
At approximately 11:01 AM, I was advised via Laurens County 911 that the Rav 4 was located at the VA on Veterans Blvd. Deputies arrived on the scene and located the vehicle [REDACTED]. [VICTIM #2] was located in the vehicle alone by Deputy Boatright. Deputy Cowart also located a firearm in the vehicle.
Witnesses stated that Daniel left the scene in another vehicle.
[VICTIM #2] was checked by Laurens County EMS. I then transported [VICTIM #2] along with the vehicle keys back to [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated that Daniel has never had permission to drive the vehicle but, has stolen it in the past. [VICTIM #1] stated she gave Daniel the keys to the vehicle so he could get something out of it and then he took it. I was also advised by Laurens County 911 that Daniel’s drivers license is suspended.
I will seek warrants for disorderly conduct, theft by taking and driving while license suspended.
