On August 15th, 2026 at approximately 8:12 p.m., I, Deputy Nicholas Davis, responded to [REDACTED], in reference to a domestic/fight. Laurens County 911 notified Deputies that a firearm was possibly involved.
Upon arrival, we observed the offender, Ronald Wilbur, in the back yard sitting up against a trailer. Wilbur was placed in handcuffs and detained pending further investigation.
I then went and spoke with the complainant, [WITNESS #1]. She essentially stated that her mother, [VICTIM #1], and Ronald Wilbur had gotten into an argument and he put his hands on her mother. [WITNESS #1] stated that she was the one that had the firearm and that she intended to use it if Wilbur put his hands on her mother again. I then spoke with the niece of [WITNESS #1], who was a juvenile, who witnessed the incident.
The juvenile stated that she saw Wilbur and [VICTIM #1] get into an argument. The juvenile stated that [VICTIM #1] put her hands up and tried to back away from Wilbur. The juvenile stated that Wilbur grabbed [VICTIM #1] by the arm and swung down on her (made a motion with her right hand as if she were swinging a fist in a downward angle) and hit her in the arm.
I then went inside and spoke with [VICTIM #1]. I asked what the argument was about and what happened. She essentially that Wilbur is married and that they got into an argument over his current wife coming over to the house. Wilbur and his wife are still married, however; lives with [VICTIM #1]. While speaking with [VICTIM #1], I observed the inner portion of her forearm on her right arm just below the elbow to be red and starting to swell.
Wilbur was transported to the Lauren’s County Jail and released to booking. Wilbur will be charged with Battery-Family Violence and Cruelty to Children-3rd degree.
