On 9/18/25 I was dispatched to 115 W Hendry St (Goodwill) in reference to a disturbance. Central advised a woman was threatening employees because she wanted to return items.
I arrived and made contact with the complainant; [VICTIM #1] (employee), and a customer, [VICTIM #2]. Mr [VICTIM #1] pointed to a white female who was standing in front of the business and stated she was yelling, cursing and making threats in the store. He pointed out a white male who was standing in front of the store and advised he was involved as well. Ofc Lynch #121 arrived on scene and approached the male, Luis Colon, and female, Amanda Fouintan, to gather their information.
Mr [VICTIM #1] stated Ms Fouintan was at the register complaining about a transaction she conducted earlier this date, he said she was attempting to get a refund for items she purchased but they were unable to give her the refund due to a portion of it being on a debit card that Ms Fouintan did not bring with her.
Mr [VICTIM #1] stated Ms Fouintan threatened staff, yelled and started throwing items; he stated Ms Fouintan threw a box that hit him as he was leaving the store. I provided Mr [VICTIM #1] my email address and asked him to send video surveillance footage of the incident to me, he was on the phone with his District Manager, [REDACTED], who pulled the footage. Mr [VICTIM #1] advised he wished to have both parties criminally trespassed from the store.
Ms [VICTIM #2] stated she was about to leave the business when Mr Colon stood in front of the front door and stated, “it’s about to be a motherfu*king problem if she don’t get her money back,” she said “well sir I don’t have nothing to do with that.” He then stated, “well nobody is fu*king leaving,” Ms [VICTIM #2] said she told him there was a child in the store and he needed to calm down. She advised another customer said if he was going to shut it down, then let them leave and Mr Colon said, “ain’t nobody leaving out the fu*king store.” Ms [VICTIM #2] stated Mr Colon finally left the store after seeing police pull into the parking lot. Ms [VICTIM #2] stated Ms Fouintan claimed Mr Colon was her brother.
I spoke to another employee who was present behind the counter during the incident, [WITNESS #1]. Ms [WITNESS #1] stated she was attempting to help Ms Fouintan with her transaction when Ms Fouintan became argumentative and started “getting very rowdy.” She advised Mr Colon then entered the store and asked if he needed to shut the store down, I asked Ms [WITNESS #1] what she thought he meant by that, she advised, “that he was going to come shoot the store.” She said she was scared and the customers were scared as well.
She advised one customer said, “don’t start that, there are kids in here, let us just leave.” Ms [WITNESS #1] stated Ms Fouintan threatened to call her brother who was in the marines and that she claimed Mr Colon was not with her. Ms [WITNESS #1] stated she saw Ms Fouintan throw a card at Mr [VICTIM #1] but she did not see it hit him. She said she observed Mr Colon block the front door and prevent a customer from leaving.
Mr [VICTIM #1] and his District Manager were having issues sending the surveillance footage to my email. The footage was sent to Mr [VICTIM #1]’s phone and I was able to view it from there. I viewed a small clip of the incident without audio which showed Mr Colon blocking the front door as customers were trying to leave. A follow up will be conducted at a later date to procure the surveillance video for this case.
I read Ms Fouintan her miranda rights and asked her if she understood her rights as they were read, she advised she understood and wished to provide a statement. Ms Fouintan admitted to being upset by the issue regarding the transaction but she said she did not yell or throw things in the store. Ms Fouintan said she had a box which she put in a shopping cart but she did not throw it at Mr [VICTIM #1]. She advised she did not know who Mr Colon was prior to this incident; Ms Fouintan said Mr Colon asked her for a cigarette as she entered the store and she gave him one. She stated she told the employees she had nothing to do with Mr Colon after he blocked customer’s from leaving the store.
Ms Fouintan provided a date of birth of [REDACTED], out of Georgia, which later changed to [REDACTED] out of California, when we got to the jail. She admitted to providing me with a false date of birth because she said she was scared. Ms Fouintan was advised that she was being trespassed from the property; a copy of the Criminal Trespass warning was issued.
I read Mr Colon his miranda rights and asked him if he understood his rights as they were read, he advised he understood and wished to provide a statement. Mr Colon said he did not know Ms Fouintan until he approached her and asked her for a cigarette. He said he was standing outside when Ms Fouintan called him into the store and advised him, they were not giving her, her money back.
Mr Colon stated he said, “I’m gonna shut this b*tch down, I’ll pay for it.” Mr Colon stated the statement was slang, he acknowledged that it was wrong and he could have rephrased it. When I asked him if he restricted anyone from leaving the store, he said “that lady said she wanted to leave and I said nobody is telling you, you can’t leave.” Mr Colon was advised that he was being trespassed from the property; a copy of the Criminal Trespass warning was issued.
Ofc Lynch transported Mr Colon to the Liberty County Jail where he was released to the custody of the jail staff. I transported Ms Fouintan to the Liberty County Jail and released her to their custody.
The arrest and transport of both suspects followed department protocol consisting of the suspects being searched incident to arrest, handcuffed (double locked and checked for fit), the suspects were placed in the backseat of patrol vehicles and seatbelted in for transport. The vehicle was searched prior to and after transport with no contraband found.
Ms Fouintan was charged with False name/date of birth and Disorderly Conduct. Mr [VICTIM #1] was provided with the case number and advised on warrant procedures for Simple Battery (he was not able to provide video of Ms Fouintan throwing a box at him). Mr Colon was charged with False Imprisonment and Disorderly Conduct. Warrants will be applied for in this case.
