On 28 June 2026 at or around 2300 hours Officer was conducting a routine patrol on Talmadge road near Carter Rd and Arnold drive when a driver in a dark in color sedan failed to dim its headlights. Officer flashed his high beams to let the driver of the other vehicle to dim and they did not. Officer conducted a U-turn and initiated his lights and sirens to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle identified as a black Nissan sedan then conducted a right hand turn onto Carter Rd and travel approximately 1/4 mile until coming to a stop near Griffin Rd.
As the officer exited his patrol vehicle the driver of the Nissan opened her door and began talking with words slurred/mixed together. As the officer approached the vehicle and explained the reason for the traffic the Officer noticed a pungent odor of an alcoholic beverage. The driver, Identified as Angel Sullivan was asked to step out of the vehicle for further investigation. Sullivan, when asked to be completely honest stated she had 2 cups of an alcoholic beverage a few hours before driving.
At that moment she was detained and an assisting Officer was requested to begin field sobriety tests. After confirming the Ga tag [REDACTED] that was secured to the rear of her vehicle, GCIC and Dispatch advised the vehicle had no valid insurance Coverage.
Sullivan was cited with Failure to dim and no valid insurance and transferred to an assisting officer.
