On 07/06/2026, I responded to [900 BLOCK] E General Stewart Way (Liberty Club Apartments) in reference to a 911 hang-up call. Dispatch advised they could hear a male and female arguing in the background and that the call plotted to Apartment [REDACTED]. I later determined the correct apartment number was [REDACTED] and advised dispatch accordingly.
Upon my arrival, I observed a male later identified as [VICTIM #1], pacing in the breezeway. Mr. [VICTIM #1] appeared agitated, I asked if he had called the police and he stated that he had asked his wife to call. When I asked what had occurred, a female exited the apartment demanding, “Give me my cell phone.” Mr. [VICTIM #1] handed her the phone and she immediately returned inside Apartment [REDACTED] and closed the door.
I asked Mr. [VICTIM #1] how he came into possession of her phone, and he stated that he had accidentally taken it with his own phone while leaving the apartment. I then asked why he requested law enforcement, and he asked if we could speak away from the apartment door. Mr. [VICTIM #1] and I walked to the parking lot, where I observed that he was bleeding.
Mr. [VICTIM #1] initially stated that he did not want EMS and did not wish to press charges. He explained that he had been in the shower when his wife, Angela Davis, looked through his phone and became upset about something she found. He stated they began arguing. I noticed he was bleeding and I asked how he sustained his injury, and Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated he believed he was cut while attempting to take a knife away from Ms. Davis. When I asked where the knife was located, Mr. [VICTIM #1] showed me that he had placed it on the hood of a nearby vehicle.
SPO Riner (#125) arrived on scene. I secured the knife and placed it in the rear of SPO Riner’s patrol vehicle. The knife was a large butcher knife with a black handle, approximately 10 to 12 inches in length. I observed what appeared to be fresh blood on the blade.
While collecting Mr. [VICTIM #1]’ identifying information, he provided a Georgia driver’s license for identification. SPO Riner explained the seriousness of Mr. [VICTIM #1]’ injury, after which Mr. [VICTIM #1] requested EMS. Upon closer observation, the injury appeared consistent with a stab wound to his forearm. SPO Riner photographed both the injury and the knife.
I heard children inside the apartment. I asked how many children were present, and Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated there were two. He advised that Ms. Davis had placed both children in a bedroom before the argument began.
I then made contact with Ms. Davis inside the apartment. While I was speaking with her, EMS arrived on scene and began treating Mr. [VICTIM #1]. He was later transported to Winn Army Hospital. Both an EMT and I asked Ms. Davis whether she had sustained any injuries, and she stated that she had not.
I asked Ms. Davis to explain what had occurred. She stated that Mr. [VICTIM #1] was in the shower when she began looking through his phone, and he became angry after discovering she had it. Ms. Davis admitted that she struck Mr. [VICTIM #1] first. When I asked her to clarify, she initially stated that she threw baby oil on him. I asked again what she meant when she said she hit him, and she stated that she slapped him, after which Mr. [VICTIM #1] struck her back. I asked whether she had any visible injuries or marks, and she stated that she did not. Ms. Davis stated they continued arguing until Mr. [VICTIM #1] took both cellular phones and went outside.
I asked Ms. Davis where she obtained the knife, and she stated that she retrieved it from the kitchen counter near the baby formula. I later observed that the knife had been taken from a knife block located next to the baby formula. I asked why she retrieved the knife, and she stated it was because Mr. [VICTIM #1] was bigger than she was. Ms. Davis also stated that they fell to the ground during the incident. When I asked where this occurred, she stated it happened inside the apartment. I asked whether this occurred before Mr. [VICTIM #1] went outside with the phones, and she stated they first went outside and then returned inside before the physical altercation continued.
I was advised that a detective was responding to the scene, and I discontinued questioning Ms. Davis. I collected her identifying information, and she provided a Georgia driver’s license for identification. I also collected the names and ages of the two children. Ms. Davis stated she had placed the children in the back bedroom before the argument became physical.
Detective Santiago arrived on scene. I briefed Detective Santiago on the investigation and remained on scene while he interviewed Ms. Davis. During that time, I photographed the scene. I observed some blood drops and oil on the floor, clothing and walls. Those photographs were attached to this report. Ms. Davis agreed to report to the police department at approximately 1600 hours to provide a more detailed statement to Detective Santiago.
SPO Riner maintained custody of the knife, which was seized as evidence. SPO Riner completed the evidence documentation and secured the knife in the Hinesville Police Department evidence locker. Before clearing the scene, I provided Ms. Davis with the case number and a Victim’s Rights Pamphlet.
The detective’s division assumed the investigation.
