On 11/09/2025 at approximately 1908 hours. I dispatched to 773 Veterans Pkwy (Baymont Inn) in reference to a domestic in progress.
Upon arrival, I made contact with [WITNESS #1] (Hotel Security), who stated a female, later identified as [VICTIM #1], was not on scene when I arrived. Informed her that her boyfriend, Charley Durden, was physical with her. Ms [WITNESS #1] advised Ms [VICTIM #1] was seen on hotel surveillance pacing back and forth through the hallway.
Ms [WITNESS #1] advised that the two had been arguing and making a scene at the hotel for the last two days. I spoke to Mr Durden, who stated they argued but things never got physical between him and Ms [VICTIM #1]. He stated he and Ms [VICTIM #1] got back from a friend’s house and were in the process of having sexual intercourse, but he could not get it up. Mr Durden stated they got into a verbal altercation which led to Ms [VICTIM #1] leaving the room.
Ms [VICTIM #1] made contact with Spo Parmentier (193) and Scpl Cruz (115), who was also on scene. She stated the altercation was physical. I also made contact with Ms [VICTIM #1]. She stated she and Mr Durden came back from his friend’s house.
She stated Mr Durden was already upset at her, and she knew he was going to beat her when they got to the room. She stated when she entered the room, Mr Durden punched her in the face twice and grabbed her by her neck with his two hands and squeezed. She stated she could not breathe. He then told her to perform a sexual act on him, but “it was not getting up.” She stated she tried to leave but Mr Durden picked her up and tossed her onto the bed, which caused her to hit her left chin on a glass table, which was next to the bed. She complained of pain in her leg, neck, and head.
I observed bruises on Ms [VICTIM #1]’ neck and slight swelling on her face and the back of her head. She declined ems services. Photos of this incident are attached to the media section of this report. A criminal trespass notice was issued to Mr Durden and Ms [VICTIM #1], per request of the Bayment Inn Management.
Upon receiving Ms [VICTIM #1]’ statement, Mr Durden was arrested for Battery FVA and Aggravated Assault (Strangulation). He was placed in handcuffs, double-locked, searched, and checked for fit. He was searched by Spo Parmentier. He was seatbelted and transported to the Liberty County Jail, where he was released to jail staff.
A victim rights pamphlet was issued to Ms [VICTIM #1] with information on how to obtain a copy of this report.
