On 02/03/2026 at 2317 hours, I was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Cedar Street in reference to an unknown problem. Central advised that a female caller was heard saying something on the phone, but then the phone call dropped. They were unable to receive an answer on the callback. Central stated that there were previous domestic reports within the past 2 months.
Upon arrival with SCPL Smith #144 and Officer Siegel #169, we heard voices from within the residence. SCPL Smith knocked at the front door, and after about a minute, a male party answered the door. There was a female standing in the main hallway.
The male, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], and the female, Cynthia Roberts, began to verbally argue about the cops being called. SCPL Smith stood with Mr. [VICTIM #1] while I spoke with Ms. Roberts. Ms. Roberts said Mr. [VICTIM #1] had been bringing up past incidents all evening. Ms. Roberts was upset that Mr. [VICTIM #1] brought her liquor when he knew they both had to go to court in the morning. Ms. Roberts insisted that nothing physical happened between them tonight, but it had happened previously.
I went and spoke with Mr. [VICTIM #1], who said that he had bought them both liquor to drink tonight. Mr. [VICTIM #1] said that he was lying in bed with Ms. Roberts. Ms. Roberts would not shut up about previous incidents, which spurred a verbal argument between them. Mr. [VICTIM #1] advised that nothing physical happened between them tonight, but it has been in the past.
Mr. [VICTIM #1] showed that he had a Temporary Protection Order application that they had court for in the morning at 0900 hours. Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated that Ms. Roberts can stay in the spare bedroom for the night until they have the findings of the court case in the morning.
Ms. Roberts stated that she would go to sleep in the guest bedroom and not bother Mr. [VICTIM #1] for the rest of the night. Both parties were given a case number and instructions on how to obtain a copy of this report. My BWC was worn and active.
Before the completion of the verbal dispute report, I was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Cedar Street at 0018 hours in reference to a domestic in progress. Mr. [VICTIM #1] was calling 911, stating, “The female has a knife and is trying to stab me.”
SCPL Smith and I arrived on scene, and the front door was already open. Mr. [VICTIM #1] opened the door and showed his left forearm, which had an obvious laceration mark from a sharp object (see attached media). Mr. [VICTIM #1] refused to have EMS respond to assess his injury. SCPL Smith went with Mr. [VICTIM #1] to his bedroom, while I met with Ms. Roberts in the living room.
Ms. Roberts was sitting in the rocking chair, crying. Ms. Roberts said she went back to the spare bedroom, like we advised her too and Mr. [VICTIM #1] came and knocked on her door. Mrs. Roberts said that she tried to console him about calling the cops, but he kept telling her that he hated her and wanted her out of the residence. Ms. Roberts did not elaborate on what happened after that interaction in the spare bedroom.
Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated that Ms. Roberts came to his bedroom after we left. Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated that he did not open the door for her, and she used a card to enter the locked room. Ms. Roberts entered the bedroom with a knife in her hand, saying she was going to kill herself. Ms. Roberts began to blame Mr. [VICTIM #1] for causing this to happen to her.
Mr. [VICTIM #1] tried to tell Ms. Roberts to put the knife down, but she began to swing the knife towards him while using obscene language. Ms. Roberts stepped closer towards Mr. [VICTIM #1], while still swinging the knife, and slashed his left forearm. Mr. [VICTIM #1] began to dial 911, and Ms. Roberts left the bedroom abruptly with the knife still in her hands.
I patted down Ms. Roberts to ensure she did not still have any weapons on her person. In her right sweatpants pocket, there was a small box cutter knife. When I removed the knife from her pocket, she stated, “It was not that one.” When asking what she was implying by stating that is not the right knife, she began to cry.
Ms. Roberts made the statement, “I guess I did do it.” Ms. Roberts still refused to clarify further on what happened after our last departure. I placed Ms. Roberts in handcuffs (double locked and checked for fit) and advised her that she was being placed under arrest for Aggravated Assault FVA (OCGA 16-5-21K).
The arrest and transport of the suspect were conducted in accordance with department protocol. The suspect was searched incident to arrest. Handcuffs were applied, checked for proper fit, and double-locked to ensure safety. The suspect was then placed in the backseat of my patrol vehicle and secured with a seatbelt for transport. A search of the patrol vehicle was conducted both prior to and following the transport; no contraband was located.
Upon arrival at the Liberty County Detention Center, the suspect was released into the custody of detention staff without incident.
Warrants will be applied for within the allotted time frame for Ms. Roberts.
