Vehicle 2 was parked and unoccupied facing north in the parking lot at 110 West General Screven Way (Jimmy John’s). Vehicle 1 was parked next to vehicle 2. Vehicle 1 improperly backed up and impacted vehicle 2. Vehicle 1 then left the scene.
Driver 1 stated that she was backing up and misjudged the clearance and impacted with vehicle 2. She said that she got scared and left the scene.
The investigation shows driver 1 was improperly backing as per Georgia code of 40-6-240, hit and run per Georgia code 40-6-271, and no driver’s license per Georgia code 40-5-20a
During my investigation I located the driver of vehicle 1 and got her statement. Driver 1 was charged with hit and run unoccupied vehicle and no driver’s license.
Driver of vehicle 1 was located at her residence at [300 BLOCK] Beverly street apt [REDACTED] Hinesville, Ga. Driver 1 was arrested and transported to liberty county sheriff’s office jail for book-in and bonding.
