On 02/02/2022, I was traveling eastbound on HWY 84E near John Martin Ave when I observed a red Hyundai Sonata (GA Tag [REDACTED]) traveling westbound at what appeared to be a high rate of speed. The vehicle was creating a distance from the traffic that was behind it. I activated my RADAR unit and the vehicle registered at 71 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. I activated my emergency equipment and initiated a traffic stop.

I approached the driver, later identified as Mr. Darius Fryer, and explained the reason for the stop. I requested his license at this time and he provided me with a GA drivers license. I returned to my patrol vehicle to conduct GCIC/NCIC inquiries on his license and the vehicle. The response to these inquiries was that Mr. Fryer had 2 active warrants out of Hinesville and 1 active warrant out of LCSO. I requested dispatch to send the hit.

Shortly after the request, dispatch advised me Hinesville requested a hold be placed. I advised Mr. Fryer and informed him he was under arrest. I searched, handcuffed, checked for fit, double locked, and escorted Mr. Fryer to my patrol vehicle. I allowed Mr. Fryer to contact his wife and she stated she would be en route to pick up the vehicle.

Mr. Fryer’s wife arrived and the vehicle was released to her. I then transported Mr. Fryer to Liberty County Jail where he was cited for speeding and released to the booking officers.

Prior to the beginning of shift, I searched the rear of my patrol vehicle with no contraband being found. Prior to leaving the jail, I searched the rear of my patrol vehicle again with no contraband found.
