On 03-01-2022 at 1200 hrs I was on a direct patrol on south main street when I observed the driver of a white ford suv holding a cell phone while driving.

I activated my lights and siren and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. I made contact with the driver and asked him for his driver’s license. He stated that he left his license at his residence. He gave me his name and date of birth (Dyron McGee). I ran his information on my mobile data terminal and his information came back suspended/revoked for child support.

I made contact with Mr McGee and asked him what was the issue with his license and he stated that his license was suspended. He said he had to drop his kids off and that is why he was driving. Mr McGee made contact with [REDACTED] who arrived on scene and took possession of the vehicle.

Mr McGee was transported to the Liberty county jail and was given three citations (driving while suspended/revoked, unlawful use of wireless device, and tail light required). He was given a court date for 03-30-2022 and was advised on court procedures.

The arrest and transport of the suspect followed the department protocol consisting of the suspect being searched, handcuffs being applied, checked for fit, and double locked. The suspect was seat belted for transport and the vehicle was searched prior to and after transport with no contraband found.
