On Saturday 20 June 2026, I was dispatched to 23 Talmadge Road (Friendly Express).

After arriving on scene, I spoke to the complainant / victim, Ms. [VICTIM #1]. She said that her baby daddy punched her in her head and she had to kick at him to stop him from beating on her. It started when she took three of her children to a family reunion that the offender family was having. She said when she arrived, Mr. Eddie Gibson, the offender, walked up to her grabbing her shoulder asking why was she here. She said that she was dropping off the children for the party, then his response was okay and bye.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] said that she returned about two hours later to pick up the children and Mr. Gibson got into the car. They started arguing while driving down the road. She just wanted him to get out of her sister’s car. They pulled up at Friendly Express and the situation escalated. They started arguing and then he hit her in the head and he tried to grabbed her. She thought he was trying to choke her so she started to kick at him to get him off of her. The three children when asked in front of mom, said that dad punched mom in her face and head, when I asked them what happened with mom and dad.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] also said while in the parking lot at Friendly’s, Mr. Gibson got out from the front passenger seat and came around to the driver’s side and continued to put his hands on her while she was kicking at him. He got a hold of her wrist and pulled her out of the car then she went into Friendlys’ and he followed her into the store.

She asked the clerk Mr. [REDACTED] to use the store phone and Mr. Gibson is seen on video trying to grab the phone from her but did not get it and that is when Mr. [REDACTED] stepped in between both individuals to prevent anymore issues. Mr. Gibson left out of the store then returned with the car keys and gave it to Ms. [VICTIM #1] while the car was running and left the scene with the children in the car while driving while his license was suspended. I asked Ms. [VICTIM #1] where did she think he would take the children? She responded either to his mother or grandmother.

After leaving Friendlys’ to try and locate the children, I saw the Gray Dodge Journey on Wilder Road approaching Talmadge Road and did a U-turn and activated my emergency systems (lights & sirens) effecting the stop on Russell Road. Mr. Gibson was detained because he would not comply with my instructions and he kept approaching me, he was placed into my vehicle and we returned back to Friendlys’ where I observed Mr. Gibson trying to take the phone from Ms. [VICTIM #1] on the store video. It was copied to my body cam. There were no bruises on Ms. [VICTIM #1] head and or face when I checked the areas.

When Mr. Gibson was asked what happened between him and Ms. [VICTIM #1], his response was nothing and what did she say? I asked him if at anytime did he place his hands on her, and he said no, that is his baby mama, then what do I mean by place his hands on her. Ms. [VICTIM #1] took control of the vehicle after I detained Mr. Gibson on Russell and Wilder Road.

Mr. Gibson was taken into custody for the listed charges and after running his information through GCIC/NCIC it was confirmed that he is also wanted for a probation violation through Liberty County.
