On 01/01/2026 at approximatley 0905 hours, I was dispatched to 462 Elma G Miles Pkwy (Liberty Reginal Medical Center) for a possible fight. Central advised there was a patient in room 12 actively fighting with the staff.

Upon arrival other officers were already on scene. Officer Stone had spoke with Ms [WITNESS #1] (nurse) who stated Ms Hope Hadley, was brought in by Mr [VICTIM #1] and Mrs [VICTIM #2], to get a ring cut off from her finger.

Ms [WITNESS #1] stated Ms Hadley was extremley intoxicated and became iraite when asked to provide a urine sample after the ring was removed. Ms Hadley was trying to go into other patients’ rooms also so Mr [VICTIM #1] tried to keep her in room 12. Ms Hadley then began biting and hitting Mr [VICTIM #1] and Mrs [VICTIM #2] in an attempt to strike the nursing staff for asking for a urine sample.

As I approached room 12, I could hear Ms Hadley behind the closed-door yelling. Mrs [VICTIM #2] was standing outside the door and stated Mr [VICTIM #1], her husband, was in the room with Ms Hadley. Ms [VICTIM #2] stated her and her husband were co-workers with Ms Haldey.

The nursing staff verified with the doctor that they were not providing anymore medical care for Ms Haldey as they had already removed the ring from her finger and she attempted to assault medical staff. While the nurses were explaining what happened Ms Hadley was heard in the room screaming, throwing things, and what sounded like hitting the door to the room.

Due to the increasingly aggressive and tumoultous behavior toward staff and others we were going to arrest Ms Hadley for disorderly conduct. Other officers and I opened up the door to make contact with Ms Hadley and Mr [VICTIM #1]. Once the door was opened Ms Hadley began kicking and flailing her arms at Mr [VICTIM #1] striking him, which was observed by officers.

We entered the room and began pulling Mr [VICTIM #1] out. During this, Ms Hadley fell off the bed onto her head and back. As I pulled Mr [VICTIM #1] the rest of the way out of the room Cpl Bethea and Scpl Smith were giving commands to Ms Hadley to place her hands behind her back.

When I reentered the room Ms Hadley was on her stomach with Cpl Bethea’s taser on her back and Scpl Smith was trying to gain control of Ms Hadley’s arms, which were underneath her torso. Scpl Smith was able to gain control of Ms Hadley’s right arm and place it behind her back. As Scpl Smith and I were trying to gain control of her left arm I heard Scpl Smith say, if you try to bite me again, I am going to punch you in the mouth.

Once we had control of both Ms Hadley’s arms, Scpl Smith removed himself from the room to check his thigh. Scpl Smith reentered the room and stated Ms Hadley had bit his thigh and she was under arrest for felony obstruction as well.

Once Ms Hadley was placed in handcuffs, we tried to assist her to her feet to escort her to the patrol vehicle. Ms Hadley activley resisted officers by refusing to stand up and trying to pull away while continuing to yell profanities at us. Scpl Smith, Cpl Bethea, Officer Stone and I then carried Ms Hadley out of the room and out the front door of the hospital where she was placed in the backseat of Officer Davila’s patrol vehicle to be transported to LCJ (Liberty County Jail).

Prior to leaving the hospital, Ms [VICTIM #2] gave me the ring that was removed for safe keeping. I transported the ring to HPD and entered it into the evidence locker for safe keeping.

On the way to the jail Officer Davila advised Ms Hadley stated she was on her period and told him she was going get blood all over his back seat. Once at the jail Ms Hadley was removed from the car and where she was sitting was blood spread across the seat.

While at the jail Ms Hadley’s behavior continued and it was advised to me that the jail staff tased Ms Hadley as well.

The arrest and transport of the suspect followed department protocol consisting of the suspect being searched, handcuffs being applied, checked for proper fit and double locked. The suspect was placed in the backseat of Officer Davila’s patrol vehicle and was seat belted in for the transport. The vehicle was searched prior to and after the transport with no contraband found.

The suspect was released to the custody of the Liberty County Detention staff. Warrants will be applied for in the required amount of time following arrest.
