On Saturday, September 26th, 2026, at 02:44 hours, I was dispatched to [REDACTED BY AGENCY], in reference to a noise complaint. Prior to my arrival other units were already on scene, attempting to disburse a large crowd of people throughout West Pine Street, primarily at [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. I arrived on scene at approximately 03:00 hours and began assisting with disbursement.
While asking people to leave the area, I made contact with Mr. [REDACTED] and his girlfriend, Ms. Jada Whitfield, near the front of apartment [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. During initial contact both parties were arguing with each other. They were asked to leave at which point they began walking towards the roadway. Shortly after while moving through the area asking other people to leave the area, I again made contact with Mr. [REDACTED] and Ms. Whitfield. They were again asked to leave the area.
After second contact, I continued with efforts of crowd disbursement. During these efforts, I observed Ms. Whitfield appearing to lunge towards Mr. [REDACTED] and falling onto the ground. I made contact with Ms. Whitfield as she was getting off of the ground. Once on her feet, I advised her to put her hands behind her back and she was under arrest, while grabbing her arm. Ms. Whitfield began resisting by pulling away.
While attempting to gain control of Ms. Whitfield, Sergeant Pangelinan and Deputy Aragon began assisting. After a brief moment of Ms. Whitfield resisting, Deputy Aragon placed her in double locked handcuffs, which were checked for fit, behind her back. She was escorted to Deputy Aragon’s patrol vehicle, where her person was searched with no findings and placed in the rear seat of his patrol vehicle.
Note: When attempting to place Ms. Whitfield under arrest, while she resisted, multiple items fell from my person. Out of these items were my handcuffs. When attempting to reobtain my items, my handcuffs were unable to be located.
After, I made contact with Mr. [REDACTED]. He explained while walking with Ms. Whitfield, he told her she did not care about her daughter. He stated she struck him and fell onto the ground. After speaking with Mr. [REDACTED], he was released from the scene.
Ms. Whitfield was transported by Deputy Aragon to the Liberty County Jail, where she was released to the jail booking staff without incident. She was cited for Disorderly Conduct and Obstruction. Deputy Aragon advised before and after transport the rear seat of his vehicle was searched with no findings.
