Driver 1, Mr Jake Carter, left the scene of the accident and had his father, Mr [REDACTED BY AGENCY] [REDACTED], call 911 approximately four hours after vehicle 1 impacted vehicle 2.

Driver 2, Ms [REDACTED BY AGENCY] [REDACTED], stated she was traveling on Elma G Miles Parkway going westbound towards Veterans’ Parkway when Driver 1 made a left turn from School House Road onto Elma G Miles Parkway impacting vehicle 2.

Prior to the completion of this report, I met with Driver 1 on 11/18/25 at the Hinesville Police Department. Driver 1 stated he was making a left turn from School House Road when he impacted another vehicle. Driver 1 stated he panicked and pulled over further ahead before calling his father. The father of Driver 1 then reported the accident several hours later.

The accident investigation revealed Driver 1 was in violation of OCGA 40-6-270 for leaving the scene of an accident and OCGA 40-6-72b for failure to stop/yield from a stop sign. Driver 1 was cited and arrested on 11/18/25.

The arrest and transport of the suspect followed department protocol consisting of the suspect being searched, handcuffs being applied, checked for proper fit and double locked. The suspect was placed in the backseat of my patrol vehicle and was seat belted in for transport. The vehicle was searched prior to and after transport with no contraband found.

The suspect was released to the custody of the Liberty County detention staff without incident.
