On 3/7/2022, I was advised by Lt Guy (#163) that the driver of a white dodge grand caravan (Ga tag [REDACTED]) license was suspended. I conducted a registration check on the Georgia tag on my mobile data terminal (MDT). It returned with the registered owner’s, Jennifer Dixon, license suspended. The reason for the suspension was for a no insurance conviction (suspension date 2/25/2022.
I activated my emergency equipment, lights/siren, and conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of cadence bank. I approached the driver verified as Jennifer Dixon and explained the reason for the stop.
Ms Dixon was placed under arrest for driving while suspended O.C.G.A 40-5-121. She was issued a citation for driving while suspended and given a mandatory court date of 4/06/2022. Her license was confiscated and she was issued a suspension notice.
The vehicle was released to a licensed driver, [REDACTED].
The arrest and transport of the suspect followed department protocol consisting of the suspect being searched, handcuffs being applied, checked for fit and double locked. The suspect was seat belted for transport and placed in the backseat of my vehicle. My vehicle was searched prior to and after transport with no contraband found.
The suspect was released to the custody of the Liberty county jail staff. My department issued BWC was on and recording during the traffic stop.
