On 4/5/2022, while patrolling the area of HWY 84W near Dunlevie Rd, I observed a blue Cadillac Deville (GA Tag [REDACTED]) where the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. I activated my emergency equipment and initiated a traffic stop. Prior to the vehicle stopping I was able to conduct a GCIC/NCIC inquiry on the tag and the response was the vehicle had suspended registration and the registered owner was wanted by the US Marshall’s.
I approached the driver and identified him as the registered owner, Mr. Just Spencer. I explained the reason for the stop and obtained his driver’s license. I returned to my patrol vehicle as Deputy Davis arrived to assist. I requested dispatch verify the warrant. The warrant was verified as valid and the US Marshall’s service placed a hold.
I informed Mr. Spencer he was under arrest and why. I searched, handcuffed, checked for fit, double locked, and escorted Mr. Spencer to my patrol vehicle. I allowed him to use his phone to contact his sister and she arrived shortly to pick up the vehicle.
I transported Mr. Spencer to Liberty County Jail where he was cited and released to the booking officers. I informed the booking officers of the hold placed and filled out a hold sheet.
The rear of my patrol vehicle was searched before shift and after transport with no contraband found.
