On 2/6/2022, at 2146 hrs, Ofc Riddick and I were dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Wayfair Ln in reference to a physical domestic. Upon arrival contact was made with, [VICTIM #1].
Ms [VICTIM #1] explained her husband, Kenon Turner came home and they began to argue about where he was for three hours. She stated the argument became physical. She stated he grabbed her and threw her down on the bed and began to hit her.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she heard her mom (Ms [VICTIM #1]) screaming from her bedroom. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated when she entered her parents bedroom her step father Mr Turner was on top of her mother hitting her.
Ms [VICTIM #1] stated when Mr Turner saw [REDACTED BY AGENCY] he got off of her and began to walk out of the house. Ms [VICTIM #1] explained she followed him outside and stated since you like this car so much Im going to mess it up. She proceeded to throw a toy at his vehicle. She stated this angered Mr Turner so he began to chase her back into the house. [Ms] [VICTIM #1] stated she ran inside the house and locked the door behind her. Ms [VICTIM #1] explained Mr Turner then kicked the door open and chased her to the bedroom. She stated once in the bedroom he climbed on top of her and began to choke her with two hands.
I asked Ms [VICTIM #1] while Mr Turner had his hands around her neck did she ever lose consciousness and was it a struggle to breathe. She stated she did not lose consciousness, but it was hard to breathe. She stated she finally removed his hands from around her neck by fighting him off. I observed bruising around Ms [VICTIM #1]’s neck which appeared consistent with her account of what happened.
Prior to our arrival Mr Turner was no longer at the residence. Ofc Riddick was able to ascertain his military information and what unit he is in. Mr Turner is stationed on fort Stewart and he is a sergeant in 1-41 field artillery fox company. I was able to get in contact with Mr Turner’s unit and advise them that we needed to talk to him.
Prior to the completion of this report on 2/7/2022 at 0139 hrs, I made contact with Mr Turner in the driveway of his residence. I asked Mr Turner for his side of the story. He stated he did kick the door open, but did not admit to anything else. I looked at Mr turners vehicle. I did not notice any damages. I advised Mr Turner he can apply for a warrant against Ms [VICTIM #1]. He stated he was not worried about pressing any charges against her.
Mr Turner was placed under arrest. The arrest and transport of the suspect followed department protocol consisting of the suspect being searched, handcuffs being applied, checked for fit and double locked. The suspect was seat belted for transport and placed in the backseat of my patrol vehicle.
Mr Turner was briefed on warrant procedures in reference to Ms [VICTIM #1] throwing the toy at his vehicle.
Mr Turner was transported and released to the Liberty county jail. My vehicle was searched prior to and after transport with no contraband found. My department issued BWC was on and recording while on scene.
Warrants will be applied for in the appropriate time for aggravated assault (strangulation), simple battery (FVA), criminal trespass (FVA) and cruelty to children 3rd degree (FVA).
