On 01/27/2022 at approximately 2343 hrs I observed a white Lexus traveling westbound on W Oglethorpe Hwy without its lights on.
I activated my emergency equipment (lights and sirens) and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.
I made contact with the driver, Mark Jackson, and advised him the reason for the stop. I asked Mr Jackson for his driver’s license and registration. Mr Jackson stated he left his driver’s license at home. Mr Jackson gave me his name and date of birth and I had his information ran through central. I was advised by central Mr Jackson’s license was suspended.
I returned to the vehicle and informed Mr Jackson he was being placed under arrest for driving on a suspended license and placed him in handcuffs. Mr Jackson was searched and placed in the back of my patrol vehicle and transported to the Liberty county jail where he was issued a citation and released to the custody of a Liberty county jailer.
My HPD issued BWC was active during this incident. My vehicle was searched prior to and after transport with nothing to report.
