On 04/30/2026 at approximately 1406 hours I was dispatched to [2400 BLOCK] Jacobs Ct, in reference to a domestic in progress. The complainant, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], told central dispatch that her mother, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], and father, Michael Burke, attacked her. She also advised dispatch that Mr Burke choked her and threw her around.

Upon arrival, Officer Kalista (150) and I made contact with [REDACTED BY AGENCY], who stated she had come to the house to pick up some of her belongings when she and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] got into a disagreement over items she was taking.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated, during the argument, Mr Burke grabbed her by the throat and pinned her to the hood of a vehicle, which was in the drive way. she told officer kalista she felt like she was going to be unconscious and could not breathe when Mr Burke was squeezing her throat.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] also stated Mr Burke held her throat with one hand and used the other hand to punch her in her face. I observed a knot on [REDACTED BY AGENCY] forehead, which she said was a result of being punched by Mr Burke. I also observed multiple scratches on [REDACTED BY AGENCY] face and on both sides of her neck.

After receiving [REDACTED BY AGENCY] statement, I made contact with Mr Burke, who stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] attacked [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and was pulling her hair. He stated that the scratches came from him trying to hold [REDACTED BY AGENCY] down because she has mental issues he denied punching [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Mr Burke had blood running from his lip and a bite mark on his forearm.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated the incident started when she and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had a disagreement over items [REDACTED BY AGENCY] wanted to take [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated, during the disagreement, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] took a blanket which belonged to Mr Burke and threw it into a nearby pond. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] then grabbed her hair and they both started to tussle.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she called for Mr Burke to help her. And he intervened, and they too started to tussle.

Mr Burke was placed under arrest for aggravated assault (strangulation) and battery FVA. He was placed in handcuffs, double locked and checked for fit, he was searched and transported to LCJ without further incident.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] was checked out by EMS on scene but declined transport to the hospital.

Warrants have been applied for the above-mentioned charges.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] was issued a victim’s rights pamphlet with information on how to obtain a copy of this report.

Mr Burke was issued a CRN with information on how to obtain a copy of this report, along with warrant procedures.

The offense of battery (fva) is not added to the offenses section of this report because of the Aggravated Assault charge and the NIBRS errors caused by having both charges on the same report.
