On 11/13/2025 at approximately 0850 hours, Ofc. Kalista (150) and I were dispatched to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Livingston Court in reference to a domestic dispute between a live-in boyfriend and girlfriend.
Prior to our arrival, dispatch advised that the male party had already left the residence and was currently at Rent-A-Center, located at 107 W. Hendry Street.
Upon arrival, we made contact with the complainant/victim, Ms. [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that she and her boyfriend, Mr. Michael Lebarre, had been arguing for the past couple of days. She said today’s argument involved their breakup. While they were in the bedroom talking, Mr. Lebarre became upset and began yelling at her. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated Mr. Lebarre got in her face and then pushed her with both hands onto the bed (simple battery), while saying, “If I wanted to, I could.” Mr. Lebarre did not elaborate on what he meant by that statement.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated she got up from the bed and grabbed her cell phone to call 911. As she was about to complete the call, Mr. Lebarre grabbed the phone out of her hand, preventing her from calling 911 (interference with a 911 call). She stated she attempted to get her phone back, but Mr. Lebarre kept it out of reach.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] advised that Mr. Lebarre keeps multiple weapons in the room. She stated that during the incident, he grabbed an all-black holstered pistol that was on the floor next to the bed. She said Mr. Lebarre removed the pistol from its holster, pointed it at her chest, and stated, “If I wanted to, I could, and no one is going to believe you.” He then threw her cell phone onto the bed and left the room. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated she felt her life was in danger when he pointed the gun at her (Aggravated Assault).
Ms. [VICTIM #1] said Mr. Lebarre went outside to his vehicle but then returned to the residence. While she was standing in the living room, Mr. Lebarre walked up to her, pushed her onto the couch, and stated, “It’s your word against mine.” Mr. Lebarre then left the residence to go to work at Rent-A-Center.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] advised her father, Mr. [REDACTED BY AGENCY], was inside the residence during the incident but did not witness the altercation.
I made contact with Mr. Lebarre at Rent-A-Center and explained the reason for the interaction. Mr. Lebarre stated that he and Ms. [VICTIM #1] had a confrontation that morning and admitted he “put hands on her.” When asked to describe what happened, Mr. Lebarre said the argument began in the bedroom, where both parties were yelling. He stated he picked up his holstered firearm from the bed with the intent to take it to his vehicle. He said that when he walked into the living room, Ms. [VICTIM #1] followed him and got in his face, so he grabbed her and pushed her onto the couch before leaving to “create distance” between them.
I summarized Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s and his statements for clarification and asked follow-up questions. When asked if the argument in the bedroom ever turned physical, Mr. Lebarre replied, “No.” When asked if he took the pistol out of the holster at any point, Mr. Lebarre began to respond but then stopped and stated, “No.”
I asked Mr. Lebarre if he would feel his life was in danger if Ms. [VICTIM #1] had handled the firearm in the same manner he described. He replied, “Yes.” Mr. Lebarre declined to add anything further to his statement.
Mr. Lebarre was placed under arrest for Simple Battery (FVA), Aggravated Assault (FVA), and Interference with a 911 Call. He was searched, handcuffed (checked for proper fit and double-locked), and seated in the back of my patrol vehicle. He was seat-belted in for transport and transported to the Liberty County Jail, where he was released to LCJ staff without incident.
The patrol vehicle was searched before and after transport with no contraband located.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] was provided with a Victim’s Rights pamphlet, a case number, and was advised on how to obtain a copy of this report.
S/Cpl. Shin (113) was advised and briefed on the situation.
Warrants for Mr. Lebarre arrest will be filled in the allotted time.
