On 9/14/25 at 0957 hours I was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Freedom Ct in reference to a gun shot victim. Dispatch advised one male had been shot and the subject who shot was still on scene.

I arrived on scene and observed a black male, later identified as Mikaeel Hedgepath, standing in the parking lot in front of Apt [REDACTED]. He placed the gun on the ground and removed his jacket. S/CPL C. Roberts 156 secured Mr. Hedgepath in handcuffs and detained him in a patrol vehicle. I observed a black male, later identified as [VICTIM #1], lying between two vehicles in front of Apt [REDACTED].

I spoke to Mr. [VICTIM #1] who stated he had been shot. I grabbed my trauma bag and began removing his clothing. I observed injuries to his stomach and abdomen area. Mr. [VICTIM #1] was not actively bleeding out from those injuries. EMS arrived on scene and began treating Mr. [VICTIM #1]. He was stabilized and transported to Memorial Health University in Savannah by ambulance.

I spoke to [VICTIM #2] who stated he and his brother, Mr. [VICTIM #1], were outside beginning to change a tire on a vehicle. He stated Mr. Hedgepath came out of the residence and they began to argue. Mr. [VICTIM #2] stated he told Mr. Hedgepath “if you get rid of that gun we can fight”. He stated Mr. Hedgepath slapped the side of his waistband saying he had his gun. Mr. [VICTIM #2] stated his brother raised his shirt showing his gun and stated we have guns too. He stated Mr. Hedgepath pulled his pistol and began shooting. Mr. [VICTIM #1] fell to the ground and his firearm fell from his waistband. Mr. Hedgepath then pointed the gun at Mr. [VICTIM #2] and stated “you can be next”. Mr. Hedgepath walked toward them and began kicking Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s firearm away from them. Mr. [VICTIM #2] overheard Mr. Hedgepath tell his wife to call 911.

Two firearms were on the ground in the parking lot in front of Apt [REDACTED]. Two bullet casings were in the parking lot in front of Apt [REDACTED].

We secured the scene and waited for Detectives to arrive. Lt. Snider and Detective Colvin arrived on scene and assumed control of the investigation.
