On 3/19/22 at 2004 hrs I performed a traffic stop on a black Hyundai Accent ([REDACTED]) for driving on the wrong side of the road.
I made contact with the driver Nicholas Brinson who stated that he was not a licensed driver. I ran him through NCIC/GCIC by name and date of birth which confirmed he was not licensed. Mr. Brinson was placed under arrest at this time. Cpl Moore searched him and placed him in the back of my patrol vehicle. I transported Mr. Brinson to the Liberty county jail.
I made contact with the registered owner who arrived on scene for the vehicle to be released to her.
Mr. Brinson was cited for no drivers license and given a court date of 04/13/22. He was transported to the Liberty county jail and released to the jail staff for processing.
My department issued BWC was activated during this incident.
The arrest and transport of the suspect followed the department protocol consisting of the suspect being searched, handcuffs being applied, checked for fit, and double locked. The suspect was seat belted for transport and the vehicle was searched prior to and after transport with no contraband found.
