On 3/3/2022 I was advised by Glynn County Deputies of a white Ford truck (GA Tag [REDACTED]) equipped with a ladder rack and had 3 occupants not wearing seatbelts. I observed the truck turn left onto HWY 196E and activated my emergency equipment to initiate a traffic stop.
I approached the driver, later identified as Ms. Paz Vasquez and explained the reason for the stop. I requested her license and she stated she did not have one. She also stated she did not speak English. She used her cellphone to contact someone that could translate for her.
Ms. Vasquez was advised she was under arrest for driving without a valid license. I searched, handcuffed, checked for fit, double locked, and escorted her to my patrol vehicle. One of the passengers had a valid license so the vehicle was released to him per Ms. Vasquez’s request.
I transported Ms. Vasquez to the jail where she was cited and released to the booking officers.
My patrol car was searched prior to shift and prior to leaving the jail.
