On Sunday, September 14th, 2025, I was dispatched to [2600 BLOCK] Shaw Road, Lot [REDACTED], for a domestic at 1105 this morning and arrived at 1112. After arriving at the address, there was a black male sitting on the steps who was later identified as Mr. Shawn Johnson. After approaching him, I asked him if he was involved in the incident at this address, and he stated that he and his girlfriend had disagreed earlier, and he was trying to leave. I was backed up by the Liberty County Sheriff, and they stayed with Mr. Johnson.
I then went and spoke to the complainant/victim, Ms. [VICTIM #1], who said that she and Mr. Johnson were arguing about her going to the club last night, and he kept calling her phone, and she did not respond. After getting home around three A.M. this morning, the argument began and continued all morning.
They got physical with him, saying that he has a case next month, and Ms. [VICTIM #1] said You sure do. She said that is when Mr. Johnson ran up on her, pushing her against the rear trailer door, causing the safety chain to break, and now the door is unable to be secured. Then, not too long after that, she was in her room while they were exchanging words, and Mr. Johnson called her a b*tch, and she responded that your mama is a b*tch. She said that he came into the room, jumping on her like a monkey, forcing her onto her back, and while doing so, he choked her, pressing down on her neck and his weight on her midsection, pinning her to the bed. She said that she was trying to move his hands from around her throat before he finally let her go.
Before my arrival, dispatch informed me that the victim had refused EMS. I also looked at Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s neck and did not see any bruises or fingerprints, and also asked her if she felt like she would pass out, and it was a no to both questions. Ms. [VICTIM #1] then said that she jumped up and ran outside to the next-door trailer, beating and yelling for somebody to call the police.
Mr. Johnson was taken into custody, placed in double-lock handcuffs that were checked for fit, and placed in my transport compartment that was checked for contraband before and after transport, and turned over to the jail without further incident. A warrant will be taken out for Mr. Johnson. Ms. [VICTIM #1] received a case report number and was told how to get her report.
