On Wednesday, December 19, 2021 at approximately 1731 hours, I was patrolling Airport Rd. I observed a Black Dodge Ram driving North on Airport Rd approaching Paul Sikes Dr. I conducted a check on the vehicle’s tag (GA/[REDACTED]) on my mobile data terminal (MDT) through GCIC. My MDT alerted the vehicle owner’s license was suspended. I pulled along the side of the vehicle to get a look at the driver and it appeared to be the registered owner from the photo generated by my MDT.
I followed and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle using my emergency equipment. The vehicle pulled over at Airport Rd and Crystal Lake Dr.
I explained to the driver why I stopped him and asked for his information. The driver handed me his GA Drivers License and it identified him as Mr Steven Sellers the registered owner. I went back to my vehicle and ran his license number thru Central Dispatch and it showed Mr Steven Sellers had a suspended license reference Child Support.
I walked back to Mr Sellers’s vehicle and asked him to step out.
I placed Mr Sellers under arrest for driving on suspended license. I placed Mr Sellers in double locked handcuffs that were checked for fit.
He was searched and escorted to the back of my patrol vehicle. A license driver by the name of [REDACTED] was riding with Mr Sellers and took possession of the vehicle and his child. I transported Mr. Sellers to the Liberty County Jail where he was turned over to the jail staff without incident.
I issued Mr Sellers a citation for driving on suspended license, and issued a DDS 1150 Suspension Notice.
My patrol vehicle rear passenger compartment was search before shift with no contraband being found.
Prior to leaving the jail, I searched the rear passenger compartment of my vehicle with no contraband being found.
This traffic stop was on Recorded Audio/ Video
