On Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 2140 hours, I was traveling northbound on Veterans Pkwy. I observed a black Nissan Altima GA tag [REDACTED] traveling in front of me. I conducted a GCIC/NCIC check of the license plate using my in car Mobile Data Terminal. The status came back showing the vehicle not having valid insurance and a suspended registration. I activated my emergency equipment (blue lights and siren) and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, stopping it in the parking lot of 721 Veterans Pkwy (WAWA gas station).
I made a driver’s side approach on the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Mr. Stevie Habersham. I advised him on the reason he was stopped and asked him for his driver’s license which he provided to me. I could smell a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. I asked Mr. c when he last smoked marijuana and he stated about 30 minutes prior to the traffic stop. I asked him to step out of the vehicle and walk to the front of my patrol car which he did. Deputy Breningstall arrived on scene to assist.
I requested the next list tow truck for the vehicle, dispatch advised Hinesville Towing would be en route. I inventoried the vehicle and released it to Hinesville Towing.
