On 11/19/2025 at 1710 hours, I was dispatched to 123 E MLK Jr. Drive (Hinesville Police Department) for a domestic disturbance.

Upon arrival, I spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] [VICTIM #1] (Victim #1) and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] [VICTIM #2] (Victim #2). Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated she and her brother, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], were just involved in a physical altercation with their father (Thomas Jefferson) at [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Guyett Ave. PS3 Taylor (270) was on scene with me.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] said [REDACTED BY AGENCY] called her to tell her he had been suspended from school for an incident, and he was going to tell Mr. Jefferson. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that their father had a history of becoming violent with his children, and she decided to drive over to their home in case Mr. Jefferson did so with [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

Ms. [VICTIM #1] said that while she was there, Mr. Jefferson became verbally belligerent with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and charged him in the kitchen, where he (Mr. Jefferson) began punching him. At this time, their youngest brother, a four-year-old (no information given), was also in the kitchen on his tricycle. Ms. [VICTIM #1] said she “scooped him up” and ran him back to his bedroom, where she told him to stay.

She stated she ran back to the kitchen to intervene between her father and [REDACTED BY AGENCY], who were physically fighting. Ms. [VICTIM #1] said that at this time, another minor, their fourteen-year-old stepbrother, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], came running out of the shower and was yelling for his dad to stop.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] said she and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] tried to run to the garage to leave, and Mr. Jefferson took the path through the kitchen doorway to the garage as well, while making comments to [REDACTED BY AGENCY], “So you wanna fight, huh?”. “So you’re big and bad, huh?”.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] said both a Volkswagen Atlas and their father’s truck were backed into the garage, with the interior access door being closest to the Atlas. Ms. [VICTIM #1] said she and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] were next to the driver’s side door of the Atlas when they heard their father opening the door of his Tahoe.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated, “We knew he was reaching for his pistol.” Ms. [VICTIM #1] said her father looked at them, racked the firearm, and aimed it at them, as she ducked behind the engine block of the Atlas, pulling [REDACTED BY AGENCY] down with her.

At this time, she stated that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was witnessing the incident and yelled to their dad, “Dad! What are you doing?! Dad, stop!” Ms. [VICTIM #1] said Mr. Jefferson yelled at them to get out of his house and went back into the house. They ran to the car and came to the Hinesville Police Department.

During Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s statement, Liberty County EMS arrived on scene to assess their injuries. Ms. [VICTIM #1] obtained a minor cut on her hand at some point during the altercation, and said her jaw was tingling from her father grabbing it and shoving her to the side to get to [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. She was unsure when the incident had occurred. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had two large, red, swollen knots above his right eye, one with a small center cut. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated it felt like his father’s wedding band may have caused the cut. Photos of the injuries have been uploaded to the Media section of this report.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] advised that she called her stepmother, [REDACTED] (information not given), and told her that she needed to get home and get her other two boys because she was taking [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to the police department to file a report. She said [REDACTED] asked her to wait until she arrived to do so, but Ms. [VICTIM #1] told her they would not after he pointed the firearm at them. Ms. [VICTIM #1] did not know what type of handgun it was at this time.

Once [REDACTED BY AGENCY] returned from being assessed by EMS, I asked him to continue with his statement. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said there was an incident that occurred during school today, and he was suspended. He said he immediately felt dread because he knew he was going to have to go home and tell his father.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] said he has been in trouble multiple times in the past for his behavior, but felt as though this time he was defending himself against another student today. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] repeated several times that he was nervous to tell his father because “I knew he would get violent with me”. He advised of an incident two years ago when he had been in trouble and had been “messing up,” and Mr. Jefferson had pointed a weapon at him. He said he has had behavioral issues, but that he is tired of being “beat on”.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that when his father arrived home, he attempted to tell Mr. Jefferson what had happened at school, and Mr. Jefferson became enraged, knocking everything off the kitchen table. He said his father got close to him and began to swing at him, punching repeatedly. He said he didn’t remember swinging back at Mr. Jefferson, but he may have.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] described two doorways that both led to the interior garage door. He stated he and his sister “ran from” Mr. Jefferson through one to “escape”, and Mr. Jefferson met them at the same time by going through the other doorway. The physical altercation continued, and he and his sister ran down the driver’s side of the Atlas.

When he heard his father getting into his Tahoe, he knew he was going to get the gun he kept inside. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said when he heard the slide rack, they dropped to the ground by the driver’s door, and he flattened himself on the ground. He heard [REDACTED BY AGENCY] yelling at Mr. Jefferson, and then Mr. Jefferson telling them to leave.

I asked [REDACTED BY AGENCY] for his father’s description. He said he was a large man, approximately 6’3″, 250lbs, with tattoos and facial hair. He said his father was “a big dude” and that he was scared of him.

A call was placed to [REDACTED] in reference to this incident. Sgt. Kunda (139) and Ofc Torres (154) went on scene to speak with Mr. Jefferson. He was subsequently arrested.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] were given Victim’s Rights Pamphlets and instructions on how to obtain a copy of this report.
