On 09/15/25 at approximately 1855 hours I was dispatched to 301 W General Screven Way (Taco Bell) in reference to a disturbance. The complainant advised there was a black female on scene causing a disturbance. The female was trying to get a female to come outside. Prior to my arrival on scene, central dispatch advised the fight was now physical outside in the parking lot.

On scene, Ofc Spears (138), made contact with a female later identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY] while Spo Jones (183), and Ofc Curtin (166) made contact with the other party identified as Tyisha Young.

I spoke with the complainant, [WITNESS #1], who stated she heard someone yelling in the lobby which she believed was just teenagers at first. After walking up front, she saw a female, Tyisha Young, yelling at [REDACTED BY AGENCY] telling her to come outside. Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated they walked outside and did not know if it got physical.

As I walked outside, I heard Ms. Young yelling across the parking lot saying: “you can’t talk to her without a parent present” and “don’t tell them anything [REDACTED BY AGENCY]”. Ms. Young was walking around the parking lot and yelling while Ofc Spears was still speaking with [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. I spoke with Ms. Young and told her to calm down and stop yelling or she would be placed in handcuffs.

I spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] who stated she was with her cousin [REDACTED BY AGENCY] after marching band practice, so they walked to Taco Bell to get food. While eating, her mother, Ms. Young, came into the business and began yelling at her for spending $28.00 on Taco Bell. Ms. Young continued yelling at her for a few minutes telling her to come outside. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] gathered her belongings and walked outside with her mother. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] put her belongings inside of Ms. [WITNESS #2]’s vehicle, a red Dodge Durango, before telling her mother she forgot her purse inside.

After retrieving her purse, she walked back outside where her mother continued to yell at her. During the argument, Ms. Young punched [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in the face so she tried to fight back. During the altercation. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was pushed to the ground where Ms. Young got on top of her and continued hitting her and pulled out her braid.

I observed an orange braid consistent with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] on the ground in the handicap parking stall. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] appeared dishevelled with her clothes being dirty and had a cut on her right knee which was actively bleeding. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] also had a scratch on her left calf, and on the middle finger of her left hand. I observed swelling starting under [REDACTED BY AGENCY] left eye. Photos of her injuries will be digitally attached to this report.

During my interview, I had to ask [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to repeat herself because I could not hear her over Ms. Young yelling. Towards the conclusion of my interview, Ms. Young approached [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and I while yelling. Ofc Curtin advised her she could be arrested for disorderly conduct if she continues.

Ms. Young said: “I don’t give a f*ck” and kept walking toward my direction. Ofc Curtin detained Ms. Young in handcuffs and placed her in the back seat of his patrol vehicle. I advised she would be under arrest not just detained due to her continued disorderly behavior and interference with my investigation.

As I continued my interview, Ofc Spears (138) spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] who stated she was at Taco Bell with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] after practice. Her aunt came in and began to yell and cuss at [REDACTED BY AGENCY] for spending $28 on Taco Bell. During the altercation inside, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said she was going to call her mother, [WITNESS #3], to the store.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] and Ms Young walked towards the door to go outside and Ms. Young stopped and told her: “call your mom cuz I’ll beat her a*s too,” [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stayed inside for a moment to call her mother before she walked outside and saw Ms. Young take [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to the ground and get on top of her while hitting her.

I spoke with Ms. [WITNESS #3] who was on scene. Ms. [WITNESS #3] advised she is [REDACTED BY AGENCY] aunt, and she came to pick her and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] up from Taco Bell due to how Ms Young was acting. Ms. [WITNESS #3] stated her daughter, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] called her and said Ms. Young was yelling and cussing at [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Ms. [WITNESS #3] stated Ms. Young does not have custody of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] her grandmother, [REDACTED] does.

I spoke with Ms. [WITNESS #2] who stated she works with Ms. Young at the ups store on General Screven Way and she usually gives Ms. Young a ride home. Ms. Young asked her to take her to Taco Bell to pick up her daughter, so she did. I asked Ms. [WITNESS #2] about the incident to which she stated she did not want to provide a statement.

Spo Jones asked if I would like to speak with Ms. Young prior to transport.

Ofc Curtin read Ms. Young the miranda rights warnings and I asked if she would like to speak with me about the incident. Ms. Young stated yes before stating she got off work and waited for her co-worker so she could have a ride home. Ms. Young saw a charge for $28.00 at Taco Bell so she asked Ms. [WITNESS #2] to take her to pick up her daughter. When she arrived at Taco Bell, she began to argue with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] about spending that much before telling her to come outside and get in the car.

Ms. Young stated her mother, [REDACTED], has temporary custody of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and gets mad when [REDACTED BY AGENCY] is out late. I asked Ms. Young when the altercation became physical to which she stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] grabbed her by her wig, but she did not want to get her in trouble. Ms. Young would not explain how [REDACTED BY AGENCY] received her injuries and said fell backwards during the altercation.

Ofc Curtin and Spo Jones transported Ms Young to the Liberty County Jail pending a first appearnace hearing.

I spoke with Ms. [WITNESS #1] again and asked her to see the security video. She asked her general manager to pull up the camera which I then viewed.

The video shows Ms. Young enter the business and began to speak with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Ms. Young walks outside with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] following. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] puts her bag inside a Dodge Durango before walking back inside for a moment.

After walking back outside, Ms. Young and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] appear to argue with them shaking their heads and being very animated. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] walks towards the back seat where Ms. Young is standing when Ms. Young punches [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in the face. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] then swings back and strikes Ms Young. The two go back and forth for a moment grabbing on each other’s hair. The back door blocks some of the altercation, and a female can be seen on the ground with her toes up for a moment. The video began buffering for a moment so I was unable to view more at the time.

The general manager advised he would send the video to my email when it saves.

I made contact with Ms. [REDACTED] at her apartment and advised her on this incident. I provided her with a case number, victim’s rights pamphlet, and advised her on how to obtain a copy of this report.

I will be applying for warrants in reference to this incident.

The arrest and transport of the suspect followed department protocol consisting of the suspect being searched, handcuffs being applied, checked for proper fit and double locked. The suspect was placed in the backseat of Ofc Curtin’s patrol vehicle and was seat belted in for transport. The vehicle was searched prior to and after transport with no contraband found.

The suspect was released to the custody of the Liberty County detention staff without incident.
