On 03/17/2022 at 1937 hrs, I was driving on S Main St near Carter St heading towards N Main St. I ran a tag (2017 Toyota Yaris, black, Ga tag: [REDACTED]) on my terminal, it returned as the registered owner was suspended due to a FTA. Central dispatch confirmed the suspension.
I turned on my emergency lights, siren and conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle. I made contact with the driver Unyque Thornton (suspect), she said she was not aware her license was suspended.
Ms Thornton was placed under arrest (handcuffed, checked for fit and double locked) for driving on a suspended license 1st offense.
The vehicle was released to [REDACTED] by the request of Ms Thornton.
Ms Thornton was transported (checked the backseat of my patrol vehicle before and after transport) and released to the Liberty county jail.
Ms Thornton was cited for driving on a suspended license (40-5-121), her bond was $701.00 and has a court date of 04/13/2022.
