On 09/23/2025 I was dispatched to 632 W Oglethorpe Hwy (McAlister’s Deli) in reference to a disturbance called in by complainant, [VICTIM #1], who advised a customer, who was irate, made threats to slap her.

I arrived on scene and made contact with Ms [VICTIM #1] who stated she was on the phone around 1300 hrs with a customer (later identified as Willis Curry) who was upset because he purchased a potato two days prior and, today, he called to complain that the potato was burnt.

She stated Mr Curry was yelling and aggressive while on the phone; she advised she offered to remake the potato; however, he was not satisfied with that option. Ms [VICTIM #1] advised she told Mr Curry that he could come to the business and that she would be there until 1900 hrs. Ofc Parmentier arrived on scene to assist me.

I spoke with [WITNESS #1] (employee) who stated Mr Curry arrived at the business (approximately 1845 hrs) and began yelling at the staff through the window of the kitchen. She said she came out to speak with him; Mr Curry stated, “Where that b*tch at, she said she’ll be here until 7pm.” Ms [WITNESS #1] said she went to the bathroom where Ms [VICTIM #1] was and advised her that Mr Curry was waiting for her in the lobby. Ms [WITNESS #1] described Mr Curry’s actions as belligerent and obnoxious, she stated Mr Curry came in saying, “b*tch this and b*tch that.”

Ms [VICTIM #1] stated there were children in the business while Mr Curry came in cursing and yelling; she pointed to two tables full of children playing chess. I observed a total of nine children in the business who were present during the incident. Ms [VICTIM #1] said upon meeting with Mr Curry in the lobby, he said “you want to handle this here or should we take it outside?” Ms [VICTIM #1] stated she asked him to give her a moment as she just came from the restroom and did not know who he was or what he wanted.

She advised she sat down with Mr Curry at a booth where he showed her a video of the potato, he claimed was burnt. She said the potato was not burnt and Mr Curry ate most of it. Ms [VICTIM #1] stated Mr Curry did not want another potato and he did not want his money back, so she was unsure of what he wanted. She advised Mr Curry stated, “you lucky I’m being a gentleman because I’d smack the f*ck out of you.” Ms [VICTIM #1] stated she said, “your lucky I’m being a lady,” then under her breath, “because my hands are bisexual.” Ms [VICTIM #1] stated Mr Curry then walked out of the business and returned with his girlfriend who did not say anything.

I asked Ms [VICTIM #1] to check the caller ID for the number that called the business earlier this date, she provided the number [REDACTED] with the name, Willis Curry. I asked Ofc Parmentier to conduct a search of the name in RMS; he located a subject he and I previously arrested a few months prior. We asked Ms [VICTIM #1] to provide a description of the male, she stated a black male approximately 5’6, 160 lbs, long dread locs and wearing a blue shirt and black windbreaker pants.

I asked Ms [VICTIM #1] if she could provide surveillance footage of the incident; she contacted her district manager and they were able to send me clips from the incident. I observed a male who appeared to be Willis Curry; there was no audio but the video was consistent with what Ms [VICTIM #1] and her employees described to me. Mr Willis was seen swinging his arms and pointing; he used exaggerated movements as if engaged in an argument or upset. The videos will be attached to the media section of this report. Ms [VICTIM #1] advised she wanted Mr Curry trespassed from the property.

Prior to the completion of this report, I called Mr Curry but got no answer, Mr Curry then called me back and provided a statement. He stated he called and spoke to Ms [VICTIM #1] who was “crazy with me over the phone, so I was crazy back with her.” He stated when he got to the business, they were at first, very respectful and sat down to talk but when she told him there was nothing she could do, he requested to talk to someone over her; she would not provide the information.

He stated they “had words about that,” then he got up to walk out the business, raised his voice and said, “how the f*ck you going to tell me I can’t talk to somebody else?” Mr Curry stated his girlfriend came into the store because the employees came to the door to get a picture of his tag. He advised he stopped then re-entered the business to tell them they could get his tag because he did nothing wrong. Mr Curry acknowledged that there were children present.

I informed Mr Curry that he was criminally trespassed from the business and that if he returned, he could be arrested, he advised he understood. Mr Curry agreed to come to the Hinesville PD to sign and collect his copy of the criminal trespass warning. Mr Curry will be cited for Disorderly Conduct on his arrival. I made an appointment with him to receive his citation and CT warning on 9/26/2025.
