On February 2, 2026 deputies responded to James Spring Road in reference to a suspicious male. The male was described as thin white male wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans. He was last seen walking through several pastures. No contact was made with the male at this time.
I believed this male to be Jamie Pines from my previous encounters with him. However contact was made with the suspect’s mother at his residence of [500 BLOCK] James Springs Road. The mother advised Jamie has not been taking his medication and she has not seen him since 10 am.
A short time later we received another call from Jamie’s mother advising she was contacted by a neighbor at [200 BLOCK] James Springs Road stating that Jamie came into their yard and cut two males with a knife. Jamie’s location was still unknown by the mother. I relocated to [200 BLOCK] James Springs Road to speak with the victim [REDACTED BY AGENCY].
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised between 3-3:30 pm while he and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] were outside working on something Jamie came into the yard. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] states he knows Jamie and knows he has mental health issues but he has never seen him like this. Jamie was claiming that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had killed his mother and stepfather leaving them in a ditch.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] tried talking with Jamie but he was too irate and not making sense. Jamie then took what [REDACTED BY AGENCY] described as a small pocket knife and stuck it to his neck. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] showed me the area of the right side of his neck. I observed an area approximately one inch in length that appeared to be a scratch that was extremely red. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated he did not think he cut him but did press the knife against his throat.
While this was happening [REDACTED BY AGENCY] attempted to get Jamie away from [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Jamie than cut [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in the stomach area. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] described the wound to look like a star shaped and was bleeding.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] was not on scene at this time and told [REDACTED BY AGENCY] he did not want to get involved. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] did fear for his safety at the time of the incident but also feared for everyone’s safety in the neighborhood after Jamie left.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] wished to pursue charges against Jamie for putting a knife to his throat. It should be noted [REDACTED] is a 71 year old male that was on oxygen, had difficulty speaking, and appears to be feeble.
I was able to speak with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] phone and gather a statement. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was clear that he did not want to press charges but he would tell me what happened. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] statement was the same as [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was unable to describe the knife but stated it was some kind of small pocket knife. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated he did have an injury to his stomach but did not need medical attention.
I left the scene at this time to go take warrants out on Jamie for aggravated assault and abusing a disabled person. While still on James Spring Road, Madison County E911 advised that Jamie was back at his residence beating on the windows and doors. I returned to [500 BLOCK] James Spring Road.
[End of Narrative]
