On August 18th, 2023 I responded to [3300 BLOCK] Hardman Morris Rd lot [REDACTED] an reference to a possible domestic dispute. The caller stated that her daughter, Nadia Calhoun, had pulled a knife on her and bit her on the arm during a physical altercation. The caller stated that Nadia had fled the scene just prior to her calling 911.
Upon my arrival, I met with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] [REDACTED]. I observed that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had blood and various wounds to both of her arms and she was complaining of pain in her arms. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] refused medical treatment.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that on the Wednesday night, August 16th, Nadia had brought home her new boyfriend, a [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that she told Nadia that she could not have her boyfriend at the residence unless she wanted to pay bills.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that Nadia then got upset with her and was calling her names and using vulgar language towards her. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that Nadia and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] then left her residence. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that last night, Thursday the 17th, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] never returned home.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that this evening, she was in her bedroom watching TV when she heard the door open. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that she saw Nadia walk in, stop in the kitchen and then came to her bedroom door, right next to the kitchen.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that Nadia smelled strongly of alcohol and Marijuana, and asked her if she wanted to talk about [REDACTED BY AGENCY] staying at the residence. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that she told Nadia no she did not want to talk and that with her being drunk she needed to leave. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that she got out of bed and stood in front of Nadia and told her to leave and that she did not want to talk about [REDACTED BY AGENCY] staying there while Nadia was intoxicated.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that Nadia then started yelling and cursing at her again and then pushed her. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that she went to Nadia and pushed her to get her out of her room and told her to leave. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that Nadia then grabbed her by her arms and they began “scuffling”. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] described “scuffling” as her and Nadia clinched together and pushing back and forth.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that while they were scuffling, Nadia pulled out a kitchen knife and thought Nadia was going to stab her with it. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that they were still “scuffling” around and then Nadia reached over and bit [REDACTED BY AGENCY] on the back of her right arm above her elbow.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that she shoved Nadia off of her and then Nadia turned and ran out the front door of the residence. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that Nadia got into a passenger vehicle and fled the scene. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that she was unable to get any further description of the vehicle because it was dark and the vehicle that Nadia left the scene in had no lights on.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that she did not know where Nadia was staying, but if she was staying with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] he lives in the apartment complex in Athens called College Glen next to Cedar Shoals High School. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that she did not know what kind of vehicle [REDACTED BY AGENCY] drives either.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that Nadia no longer had a vehicle because she had an altercation with law enforcement recently and it caused her to no longer have a vehicle to drive. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that Nadia had been borrowing her vehicle for the past week due to her not having one.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that she believed that Nadia had taken one of her kitchen knives to use in the altercation, due to their being a knife missing from her kitchen knife block. I provided [REDACTED BY AGENCY] with a victim’s bill of right pamphlet and a case number card for this report. I informed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] of the process to apply for a temporary protection order and advised her to call immediately if Nadia returned to the residence. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that she knew Nadia would not be returning tonight and would call if she did.
I photographed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] injuries and uploaded the photos taken to Evidence.com. I will be seeking warrants for Nadia’s arrest for Aggravated Assault FVA and Battery FVA.
