On October 8th, 2025, at approximately 0038 hours, I was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] West St in reference to a possible domestic. Dispatch advised it was a neighbor who called and said that it sounds like a male and female are fighting at this address. Before I arrived, dispatch advised they received another call from this address but the line disconnected.
Once I arrived, I met with [VICTIM #1], and she told me that her husband, (Fabian Barksdale) was fighting her and that he bit her and punched her. She showed me her arm, and I could see a bite mark that had broken skin. I walked to the backyard, where I could see Fabian crying and breathing heavily. I asked him to explain to me what happened.
Fabian explained to me that they started arguing about a female, and he left walking, but he came back. He said he walked and sat on the back porch. [VICTIM #1] walked up to him and grabbed him by his shirt, and he pushed her off. Then they tussled around until he got her off of him. He told me that he got short of breath, so he got on the ground. He told me that he grabbed her phone and threw it. Then he called 911 to ask for help. I asked him if he had any injuries, and he said no. I couldn’t see any visible marks or injuries on him. I could, however, see grass on his clothes.
I asked Fabian if at any time he was struck by [VICTIM #1], and he said no. I asked if he struck her at anytime, and he said he doesn’t think so. When I asked again, he said that he just pushed her. I asked him if, at any time, anyone had bitten one another, and he said that he wasn’t sure if she had bitten him or if he had bitten her. He then tells me that she didn’t bite him. He says that he has a little redness on his neck from when she grabbed his shirt.
I then went back and spoke with [VICTIM #1], asking her to explain to me what happened. She told me that Fabian had gotten mad about what a female said on Facebook. They began arguing about it, and while she was on the back porch, he came up to her and started fighting her. She told me that he bit her, kicked her in the stomach, punched her, and choked her. I couldn’t see any marks on her hands. I did see redness and marks around her throat. She told me that when she tried to call 911, he grabbed her phone from her and threw it. Then he called 911 himself on his phone.
I asked [VICTIM #1] to explain what she meant by him choking her, and she told me that he put his hands around her throat. I asked her what she felt in that moment. She told me that she felt like she couldn’t breathe. I asked her if she wanted medical treatment, and she said no, that she was going to go to the emergency room.
I asked to go inside and speak with the other residents, and [VICTIM #1] let me into the house. I spoke with her grandfather, who told me he didn’t hear or see anything. There were four juveniles inside the home and one other adult [REDACTED]. They all said that they didn’t hear or see anything at all. Fabian was transported to the McDuffie County Jail, where he was turned over to jail staff.
