On November 8th, 2025, at approximately 0110 hours, I observed a black 2005 Dodge Durango turn onto Salem Rd. The Dodge Durango’s passenger brake light emitted a white light. I pulled behind the vehicle and activated my emergency blue lights to initiate a traffic stop.
The vehicle came to a complete stop on Salem Rd at the stop sign with its intersection with O’Neal Street. Then the vehicle started driving off, turning onto O’Neal Street. I activated my emergency siren, and the vehicle continued to drive away. Turning onto Sills Street and continuing until pulling into the driveway of [100 BLOCK] Sills Street.
I walked up to the passenger side and told the driver (Latangie Stokes) the reason for the stop and asked her for her driver’s license. She told me that she didn’t have it on her. I asked her to step out of the vehicle, and she slowly complied.
I asked Latangie if her driver’s license was valid, and she told me it wasn’t. She gave me her name and DOB. An GCIC/NCIC inquiry revealed she had an active warrant for probation out of Thomson and her driver’s license status was revoked. I confirmed it with dispatch. While I was running her information, she wouldn’t comply with Officer Olson’s lawful orders to stay by the vehicle and continued to walk away.
Officer Olson had to repeat the same lawful orders over and over. The last time, Latangie started yelling at Officer Olson while continuing to not follow lawful commands. I then arrested her and transported her to the McDuffie County Jail, where she was turned over to jail staff without further incident. The vehicle was turned over to a licensed driver.
[End of Narrative]
