On October 2, 2025 at 7:56 pm I Deputy Callaway, Deputy Braswell, and Deputy Futch responded to [800 BLOCK] Leslie St in reference to a male complainant advising he was just stabbed by his wife.
Upon my arrival I was met by the complainant (identified as [VICTIM #1]) on the front porch step of the mobile home. [VICTIM #1] advised that his wife stabbed him and threw the knife behind the sofa seat and she went into the back bedroom. [VICTIM #1] had a alcoholic beverage odor emitting from his breath. Visible lacerations to [VICTIM #1]’s left forearm were observed with blood on his arm.
I made my way inside the home, I used loud verbal commands to the female to come out from the bedroom with her hands up and visible. The female exited he back bedroom with a lit cigarette in her left hand. I stated to the female if she and her husband were in another verbal altercation before our arrival, she replied yes.
Myself and Deputy Braswell were dispatched at the time of 7:26 pm in reference to seperate a domestic called in by the male a previously on this date. On the previous call for service, myself and Deputy Braswell advised to both parties to separate inside the home, due to both subjects being intoxicated. I stated to the female if she had caused the lacerations to her husband, she stated no he did that to himself. Due to the female agreeing that she and her husband were in verbal altercation again, I asked what was the argument about this time.
The female (later identified as Leeann Finney) essentially stated that her husband came to the back bedroom where she was located and starting yelling at her and talking negative about her father. Leeann stated that her husband [VICTIM #1] told her that her father was nothing but a piece of sh*t and no good. After [VICTIM #1] spoke negatively about her father, he stumbled back into the living room and sat upon the couch.
Due to the visible lacerations on [VICTIM #1]’s arms, and severity of the crime, hand restraints were placed on Leeann’s wrist. I placed hand restraints on her wrist, checked for proper fitting and double locked said restraints. I advised to Leeann she was being detained at this time. As I was speaking with the female in the kitchen of the home, Deputy Futch, and Deputy Braswell located the knife that was laying on the floor behind a brown in color sofa seat. Images of the located knife were taken in its found position.
As the knife was taken outside the home, Leeann was escorted out of the home by Deputy Braswell. Leeann was taken to rear of my patrol vehicle at the edge of the roadway where she stood at the rear speaking with Deputy Braswell and Deputy Futch. As Leeann is outside the home, I am speaking with [VICTIM #1] at the front doorway of the home. I asked [VICTIM #1] to tell me what happened tonight.
[VICTIM #1] essentially stated that he and his wife were arguing again about her father. [VICTIM #1] admitted that he was talking negatively about her father because that is how he feels about him. According to [VICTIM #1], after the verbal argument, when he sits back on the couch, his wife (Leeann) walks out the back bedroom, grabs a knife off the kitchen counter and walks upon him as he is on the couch. As Leeann is standing over him, she begins moving the knife in a up and down motion in attempt to stab him. In self-defense, [VICTIM #1] puts his left forearm up in the air to block the blade of the knife, and sustained numerous lacerations. Images of [VICTIM #1]’s wounds were taken and have been added into the report.
911 communications officers asked [VICTIM #1] if he needed EMS treatment for his wounds but he refused said treatment. Before my departure from the inside of the home to go outside with the other law enforcement personnel, I asked [VICTIM #1] if would like any EMS treatment but he refused. [VICTIM #1] said loudly that “I know she wants to kill me but I never thought she would do this”. [VICTIM #1] advised he would get his son to take him to the hospital to see about his wounds.
As I make my way to the edge of the roadway, Deputy Futch and Deputy Braswell are speaking with Leeann at the rear (trunk area) of my patrol vehicle. Deputy Braswell read Miranda rights to Leeann and she agreed to speak on the incident at hand.
According to Leeann, [VICTIM #1] walked/stumbled to the back bedroom where she was located and started yelling/cussing at her and calling her father out of his name. When [VICTIM #1] said all he had to say, he turned walked back to the living room and sat on the couch. Leeann denied all accusations made by [VICTIM #1] about her grabbing a knife and using it against him. Leeann was unsure how [VICTIM #1] sustained the lacerations. Leeann stated “he might of done it to himself” im not sure how he got cut.
I advised to Leeann she will be under arrest. I transported Leeann to the McDuffie County jail. Once on scene at the jail Leeann was turned over to the jail staff without further incident.
Warrants for Aggravated Assault family violence were obtained and executed.
[End of Narrative]
