On May 24, 2026, at approximately 17:47 hours, I, Deputy T. Braswell, was dispatched to [1000 BLOCK] Harrison Drive in reference to a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival, I made contact with [VICTIM #1]. She stated that at approximately 17:42 hours, she was asleep on the couch when Thomas Aldred entered her residence and got on top of her. When she woke up and realized what was happening, [VICTIM #1] fought Thomas off. She reported that he was grabbing at her dress and asking her where the other man in the house was. In self-defense, she struck him in the face with a bottle.
[VICTIM #1] explained that after she hit Thomas, he backed off and began walking around the residence, making threats towards her while reaching into his pockets. She told him to leave, but he refused and continued to reach for her. In response, [VICTIM #1] attempted to push him back and out of the residence.
Though she eventually managed to get him out, he continued to fight back, at one point picking up a glass elephant used as table decor and throwing it at her, though he missed. Once Thomas was out, [VICTIM #1] closed and locked the door.
After speaking with [VICTIM #1], I provided her with a statement form so she could write down everything she had shared with me. I then returned to the intersection of Harrison Drive and Cobbham Road, where Deputy T. Callaway and Sgt. C. Adkins had Thomas detained.
Upon my arrival, I asked Thomas what had happened. He claimed that [VICTIM #1] had called and invited him over. When he arrived, he knocked on the door, but she did not respond, so he made contact with a subject in the house named [WITNESS #1]. Thomas stated he spoke with [WITNESS #1], who has severe autism, and [WITNESS #1] let him into the residence. He asserted that once inside, he walked toward the couch and stood against the wall, denying that he ever touched [VICTIM #1]. He claimed that she began yelling and cursing at him.
After speaking with Thomas, I returned to [VICTIM #1]’s residence to collect her statement. While there, she showed me video clips from parts of the altercation. In the first clip, I observed Thomas walk up to the front door and appear to be speaking with someone while manipulating the door until it eventually opened.
Once inside, I could hear a verbal altercation but could not see anything. In the next clip, I saw [VICTIM #1] attempting to push Thomas out while verbally telling him to leave, but he continued to resist and refused to exit. Eventually, [VICTIM #1] threw a bag out the front door, prompting Thomas to give up, turn, and walk off the porch while she continued to yell at him.
After reviewing the video, I asked [WITNESS #1] if he had let Thomas in, and he stated that he did not. When I inquired if he could describe what he saw, he became upset, covered his face, and cried, saying that Thomas scared him. After speaking with [WITNESS #1], [VICTIM #1] walked to the front door to show me a malfunction with the lock; she demonstrated that if pulled hard enough, it would open even when locked. I witnessed the door open as she explained.
While demonstrating this, [WITNESS #1] pointed at the white elephant on the floor and made a throwing motion. [VICTIM #1] then confirmed that Thomas had thrown the elephant at her while she was trying to tell him to leave. Given the size of the elephant, I believed that had it made contact with [VICTIM #1], it could have caused significant bodily harm. Before leaving the residence, I checked [VICTIM #1]’s phone with her permission and saw that she had missed calls from Thomas but no outgoing calls to him as he stated.
During the investigation, illegal narcotics were located on Thomas in the form of white powder rocks. Sgt. Adkins will provide a supplemental report on how these items were found, as I was with the victim at the time they were discovered. Thomas was placed under arrest and transported to the jail by Deputy Callaway, where he was turned over to the jail deputies without further incident.
Once he was in custody, I contacted Magistrate Judge D. Moore and swore out the following warrants: Burglary in the First Degree, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession and Use of Drug-Related Objects.
Thomas was personally served with all four warrants, and the white powder substance was field-tested, yielding positive results for crack cocaine. It was appropriately packaged and awaits transport to the GBI Crime Lab for further testing.
The two video clips that I was able to collect are attached to this report along with photos of the narcotics and pipes. I am in the process of retrieving additional footage.
