[NARRATIVE #1 on August 23, 2022]

On Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at approximately 2252 hours, I, Sgt. Thomas Haskins observed a red Honda Civic, displaying GA license plate [REDACTED]. I noticed the Honda Civic was traveling at a very slow speed, in relation to other traffic around it.

I ran the Honda’s license plate through my in-car GCIC terminal, which returned the registration was suspended, and the registered owner, [REDACTED], had a suspended drivers license.

I activated my patrol vehicle’s emergency lights and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the Honda Civic on GA 401 SB near MP 178. The Honda Civic immediately accelerated at a high rate of speed away from my location.

I activated my patrol vehicle’s emergency lights and siren and informed dispatch that I was involved in a vehicle chase.

The Honda Civic entered GA 408 SB and accelerated to speeds of approximately 105 MPH. I noticed the vehicle was registered in Macon, GA and there were no other Sheriff Office Deputies close to my location.

Traffic was very light and the roadway was clear. I successfully completed a PIT Maneuver on the vehicle, to end the vehicle chase before it reached a populated area.

The vehicle spun out on the left side of the roadway and came to rest in the left lane. I observed a black male, wearing a white shirt, exit the vehicle from the driver seat, and run into the woods on the southbound side of the roadway.

I observed another black male wearing a white shirt exit the rear seat on the driver’s side of the vehicle, and he ran into the northbound lane and into the wood line.

There was another male inside the vehicle, located in the front passenger seat. I instructed him to exit the vehicle, and secured him in the backseat of my vehicle. I then moved both my patrol vehicle and the Honda Civic out of the travel lanes of GA 408.

I identified the male that I had in custody as Ty’ Juandian Walker. Walker informed me that he did not know who else was inside the vehicle. I conducted an inventory search of the vehicle and in the rear seat, I discovered several large bags of Marijuana, and a Sig 9mm Handgun (Serial:66A968837) which was loaded with 9 rounds in the magazine.

Several deputies arrived on scene and we set up a perimeter on Hwy 41 S and GA 408 SB. Cpl. Kendrick deployed K9 Rocky to conduct a search for the driver of the vehicle, who ran into the wood line on the southbound side of the roadway.

After several minutes K9 Rocky tracked the male subject into an open field. Cpl. Kendrick observed the black male subject wearing a white shirt, in the wood line, with a cell phone in his hand.

The male subject saw Cpl. Kendrick and fled again, after being given a lawful command to stop running. Cpl. Kendrick was unable to deploy K9 Rocky due to the high grass and low visibility.

We attempted to locate the subject however we were unsuccessful. We deployed the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office DRONE, to attempt to locate the male subject however we were unsuccessful.

After several hours of searching for both subjects that ran from the vehicle, we called off the search. The Honda Civic was towed by Buice Wrecker. I seized 3 phones which were inside the vehicle. One was seized from Walker, which was a black iphone.

The other two phones, a flip phone, and an Iphone, were located in the backseat of the vehicle, and believed to have belonged to the backseat passenger. I will obtain a search warrant to attempt to identify the owner of the phones, and any evidence on the devices.

The Marijuana was weighed at 4.5 Ounces and entered into evidence, along with the 3 phones, and Sig. 9mm handgun and ammo.

After an investigation into the incident, we were able to identify the driver of the vehicle, as Donterious Frye. Warrants were obtained against Frye for Fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer, Obstruction of LE (x2), Possession of a firearm by convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, Distribution of Marijuana, and several other traffic citations.

Warrants were obtained against Walker for Distribution of Marijuana, Possession of Firearm during commission of a felony, and Possession of a firearm by Felony First Offender.

[NARRATIVE #2 on August 24, 2022]

On Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at approximately 0200 hours, I, Sgt. Thomas Haskins made contact with Ty’Juandian Walker in the Monroe County Jail.

I read Walker his Miranda Warning and I asked him if he was willing to speak with me about the vehicle chase to which he stated that he would. Walker informed me that he was picked up by a male he knows as “Fredo”.

Walker stated he did not know what “fredo’s” real name actually was. Walker stated he did not know who was in the backseat of the vehicle.

Walker stated he was “getting a ride” from Union Hill APT’s to Hartley Bridge Rd. Walker stated he did not know there was a firearm inside the vehicle, nor did he know there was 4.5 ounces of Marijuana inside the vehicle.

I then left the interview with Walker and a short time later, Sgt. Ortiz recieved a cell phone call from [WITNESS #1]. Sgt. Ortiz gave me [WITNESS #1]s phone number, and I made contact with her via Cell Phone.

[WITNESS #1] informed me that “fredo”‘s real name was actually Donterious Frye. [WITNESS #1] stated that Walker has been around him for years and they know each other. [WITNESS #1] stated she has observed Frye driving the Red Honda Civic before on numerous occasions.

I then made contact with Walker again at the jail, and I showed him a picture of Donterious Frye. I asked Walker if this was “fredo”, to which he stated that it was. I asked Walker if Frye was the driver of the vehicle, to which he stated that he was.

I then conducted a facebook search for “fredo”, and I discovered a picture of Frye linked to a facebook name “BG Fredo RU”.
