On 05/15/2026 at approximately 20:20PM, I, Dep. M. Clark responded to the above location in reference to a domestic dispute.

Upon my arrival, contact was made with the mother, “[VICTIM #1]”, who stated her daughter, “Kaylee Ross”, became irate after she took her cellphone from her. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that after doing so, Ms. Kaylee began kicking her in the legs and then began choking her with both hands around her neck, making it difficult for her to breathe, while yelling and screaming.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that, prior to my arrival, Ms. Kaylee left on foot and may have entered the woods. After a brief search, Ms. Kaylee exited the woodline without further incident. After making contact with Ms. Kaylee, she admitted to attacking her mother while she was having a mental breakdown and upset over her phone being taken, along with dealing with the breakup of her long-time boyfriend. Ms. Kaylee stated she knew what she did was wrong, but she could not control her emotions.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that during the altercation, Mr. [VICTIM #2]== (grandfather) attempted to separate Ms. [VICTIM #1] and Kaylee. Mr. [VICTIM #2] stated that in an attempt to separate them, Ms. Kaylee began kicking and hitting him as well. Mr. [VICTIM #2] stated he was able to hold Ms. Kaylee down momentarily before she got up and left the house on foot.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that Ms. Kaylee has had a few violent outbursts over the past few weeks. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that last week, after an incident, Ms. Kaylee tried to walk out into traffic in an attempt to get hit by a car. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated they have sought mental health options, and Ms. Kaylee has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and is now on medication.

During the investigation, I was able to observe visible red marks on Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s legs from where she was kicked and visible red marks and fingerprints from where she was choked by Ms. Kaylee.

Ms. Kaylee was placed under arrest by being placed into handcuffs that were double locked and checked for fit. Ms. Kaylee was charged with two counts of simple battery family violence, and one count of aggravated assault strangulation. Ms. Kaylee was taken to the Monroe County jail without further incident.

This incident is violation of the family violence act due to Ms. [VICTIM #1] being the offenders mother and Mr. [VICTIM #2] being the offenders grandfather and has previously resided at his residence.

Note:

Ms. [VICTIM #1] was given a case number regarding the incident.
