On Wednesday December 24, 2025 at approximately 11:47 hours, I Officer Jinright, with the Chatsworth Police Department Patrol Division was dispatched to 707 Old Dalton Ellijay Road (Advent Health Murray) Chatsworth, Murray County, Georgia, in reference to a disturbance in the medsurge area.
Upon arrival, I was escorted to the area where the disturbance was and was met by security and the suspect, Garnett Burk, I assisted security in escorting Garnett out of the hospital. I could detect an odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from the person of Garnett. Once out of the hospital I asked Garnett if he had been consuming alcoholic beverages and he said that he had been. Garnett also admitted to cussing out the hospital’s chaplain.
Officer Southern arrived and I asked him to stand by with Garnett while I went and spoke to the nursing staff. I spoke with [WITNESS #1], the head nurse, who said that Garnett was asked to leave several times. [WITNESS #1] said that Garnett started yelling and using profound language towards her. [WITNESS #1] said that Garnett cussed out [WITNESS #2], the hospital’s chaplain, while he was making his rounds.
[WITNESS #1] said that she wanted to ensure that Garnett was properly removed from the property and wanted him criminally trespassed. [WITNESS #1] also said that Garnett was causing such a disturbance that other patients in the facility were getting upset. I spoke to [WITNESS #2] who said that he was just visiting with patients and when he went into the room where Garnett was he just started cussing him out for no reason at all.
After gaining all statements I retrieved my patrol vehicle and responded to the area where Officer Southern was. I got out of my patrol unit and placed Garnett into handcuffs, checked them for fit, and double locked them. Garnett was transported to the Murray County Jail and was charged on Uniform Traffic Citations for Disorderly Conduct and Public Intoxication.
