CHATSWORTH – The following incident report was filed by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office regarding the arrest of Serenity Newberry, 18, on November 28, 2020 on a charge of public drunkenness.

Begin Transcription of Narrative Report
On 11/28/2020 approximately 22:31 I, Deputy Vannoy and Deputy Harper responded to [10 block] Bailie Lane due to a suspicious female walking in the middle of road.
Units made contact with the female who was identify as Serenity Newberry. When asked what was going on Serenity only stated she got kicked out due to waiting on a ride.
Serenity then started to talk to people who were not there, and talking about things that did not make sense. Serenity appeared to be unstable on her feet, and when asked if she had taken any drugs or alcohol she replied yes.
Deputy Harper asked her what had she taken and Serenity stated she had taken meth on 11/27/2020. Due to Serenity behavior and admitting to have taken methamphetamine prior she was placed under arrest for public drunkenness.
Serenity was placed in Deputy Harper patrol vehicle and transported to the jail, and turned over to jail staff without incident.
Serenity Newberry will be charged with one count of public drunkenness through Magistrate Court.
