On this day at about 09:37 AM I responded to a call for service at the intersection of N 2nd Ave and E Market ST Chatsworth GA, 30705. The call was about a female in a red pickup truck approaching the caller and pointing a gun at them.
I got there at 09:43 AM and met [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2]. [VICTIM #1] said they had temporarily blocked the empty dumpster. While they were doing that a red Ford F-150 pulled up to them, and a female opened the passenger door. The female yelled and cussed at them with a Glock style pistol in her hand pointing it toward the ground but in the general direction of [VICTIM #1]. He said after arguing with them the vehicle went South on 2nd Ave then reversed toward them again. However, the vehicle did not come all the way back but went South on 2nd Ave before turning East on Highway 52. [VICTIM #1] was able to give me the tag number [REDACTED].
I gave dispatch the tag number, and shortly after I received a photo from Captain M. Parker. The photo was taken from FLOCK for a red F-150 matching the tag number. I showed the photo to [VICTIM #2], and he identified the truck in the photo as the suspect truck. Then, I ran the tag number through my mobile data terminal and saw the registered owner resides at [400 BLOCK] Highway 2 E. Dispatch asked me if I wanted MCSO to go to the address to check for the vehicle and I said yes. After some time, I was advised MCSO had the vehicle stopped near Highway 411 N and Old Highway 2. Therefore, I went to meet the deputies.
I met the deputies and saw they had two males and a female detained. One of the males being the registered owner [WITNESS #1], and the female was identified as Kelly King. I spoke to Kelly King first, and I read the Miranda Warning before asking questions. She agreed to speak with me. I asked what happened and she said she has anger issues, and seeing the road blocked upset her. She said she argues with the two men and they “flipped each other off”. I asked if she had a pistol and she said no. She explained that she was holding her phone and when she pointed toward one of the men, she thought later they may think she had a gun.
I also spoke to [WITNESS #1] and read the Miranda Warning. He also agreed to talk to me. He said the road was blocked and Kelly argued with the two men but did not have a gun. I asked if I could search the truck and he consented. I asked if he reversed the truck, and he said he was going to go back but Kelly said to keep going because she had kids she needed to pick up.
MCSO deputies searched the truck and when they finished, they told me there was no pistol in the truck. I told Kelly she was being placed under arrest for disorderly conduct. I escorted her to my patrol car, and I transported her to the Murray County Detention Center without incident, and she was turned over to jail staff.
[End of Narrative]
